- GGeorgeVIPChicago / Illinois •16 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoWhat a great combination of traditional southern cuisine with a modern flair. Started with delicious smoked trout dip with homemade crackers that the chef makes with his pasta maker. Then I had the house specialty crispy flounder. This is typically challenging to eat, if it’s not prepared perfectly and this was perfect! The sauce was a sweet compliment to the savory fish. Finished with pecan pie. One of the best I’ve ever had.More infoAnsonPrice: Very Expensive• Southern• Downtown Charleston•4.8
- DDonnaNew York City •2 reviews5.0Dined 5 days agoWhen we arrived for our dinner for two we found a very large birthday party in progress. The hostess sat us as far away from them as possible, which was appreciated. Place is very pretty. Food and service were 5 stars for sure! Prices were reasonable for a high-end restaurant. Highly recommend!More infoThe Peacock CharlestonPrice: Expensive• American• Downtown Charleston•4.5
- KKristiVIPDenver / Colorado •6 reviews5.0Dined on Feb 12, 2025The food at Tempest was delicious. The mussels were some of the best I’ve had and the flounder was dream-worthy. The spaghetti & rigatoni were both house made & very good. The stained glass windows on the ceiling are beautiful & unique. Service was attentive and friendly. I’d noted in our reservation that our party included a wheelchair user and they had a ramp ready for us over the several steps that go up to the entrance. The ramp worked well for us but is indeed steep. I’m not one to give easy excuses for lack of accessibility at all, but even I will admit with the historical building & height of the steps that there isn’t at least an easy solution to make the entrance more accessible… a steep ramp isn’t ideal, and some people may need more assistance than typical— so it’s good to know about depending on your needs, and I appreciated at least having the ramp at all. One of the bathroom stalls was adequate for our wheelchair also.More infoTempestPrice: Very Expensive• Contemporary American• Downtown Charleston•4.6
