The project made its first appearance at the Christmas Food Market in Kotzia Sq in 2016 as a food truck and became an instant hit. From March 2018, it found its new home in the historic neighborhood of Psirri, Athens and is hosting guests every day with love and attention. Won't lie, in the menu, smoked brisket is king but its burgers have a fanatic crowd. Bao Buns, Tacos, Mac N Cheese and Steaks will make their way to your table too. Gloria Gati is the new restaurant of chef George Papakostas who jokingly refers to Gloria as the older sister of Vittoria Gati, another famous restaurant of his in Glyfada. Gloria is located in a historic building in the Athens center just 50 meters from Syntagma square. It is defined by an eclectic vintage design in a very cosy space where the pizza oven takes center stage. The bar serves award winning cocktails and over 100 wines from Greece and around the globe. The menu is Italian with a focus on homemade pasta and quality meats. The pizza is made from a 1937 sourdough and baked in a traditional oven imported from Naples. Some of the signature dishes include the steak tartare, arancini bolognese, the raviolo cacio pepe, the reginette al tartufo for truffle lovers as well as pollo francese and the ossobuco which is cooked for 12 hours. A tiramisu is a must here accompanied by a single estate espresso. Outside seating is available all year round in the courtyard of St George church

Mrs. Maria and their two sons along with the executive chef create authentic recipes from all over Greece, like grape leaves, the famous lamb "kleftiko", cheese pie with honey & Greek kebab “Sheftalia”. There are also some unique dishes which you can hardly find elsewhere, such as ravioli stuffed with beef & spices with red pepper & yoghurt-mint sauce, slow-cooked goat with pappardelle pasta, Cretan macaroni "skioufichta" and the caramelized octopus

Unfortunately it seemed our table was likely double booked right before the Christmas Eve tasting menu was due to start. Service was excellent, food was equally great but we did feel a bit rushed. Cocktails were watered down and not very good. Overall not a bad experience but could have been better.

We liked the atmosphere and the beautiful view of Athens at night . The waiter was concerned that the food was not good enough as my daughter could not finish her food . The food in fact was delectable . We can see why it’s an award winning restaurant . We were surprised that we could get a table without pre booking , possibly because it was not peak season . We would definitely recommend it .
