We had a wonderful dinner. Our table was perfect, our waiter was awesome. The food was wonderful as always. This is our go to restaurant when entertaining out of town guests.

Kachka has been on my bucket list for years, and it absolutely lived up to my expectations. Growing up in the same Russian-Jewish community in the suburbs of Chicago as Chef Bonnie, the experience felt deeply personal—like a nostalgic trip home, but elevated in every way. The menu was not only fun but incredibly thoughtful; you can tell so much care went into curating both the dishes and the space. The service was fantastic, and I have to give a special shoutout to one of the food runners who delivered each dish with an intensity that made the experience even more memorable. My favorite part of the dinner was sampling the different flavored vodkas. The birch flavor was phenomenal and stood out as my favorite, with horseradish coming in a close second. And do not miss the apple dessert—it tasted like something my mom used to make, but somehow even better. Kachka is everything I hoped it would be and more. I can’t wait to come back!

We each had something different , bananas foster, pancakes with apple/ cranberry crumble, seasonal vegetable scramble and every dish was welcomed wit a “oh, you have to try a bite!” Thank you, I try to bring my family once each holiday season.

When we travel from Seattle to Portland we always try to have a dinner at Nostrana, The food is simply prepared and perfect every time we have had dinner. They serve a wide range of people from dating couples to oldsters like us. Drinks and wine also very well chosen and well prepared. Service is attentive. Be sure to get a reservation ! We arrived earlier than our 5:30pm reservation but were still graciously seated, and immediately told about the “Golden Hour.” Our kind and informative server was thoughtfully descriptive when telling us about particular menu items we had questions about (e.g. Sambal flight), as well as made the recommendation of ordering rice with the Grilled Banana Leaf Black Cod (which was definitely appreciated), and checked in with us throughout the meal with perfect timing. We all agreed that every dish was delicious, and we especially enjoyed the Chinese Sausage & Shrimp Siu Mai w/spicy mustard, the Zucchini & Corn Fritter, and the Dry Aged Steak Tartare. The decor of the restaurant was colorful and eclectic which created a comfortable non-pretentious vibe. We look forward to our next visit!
