Restaurants near Pocahontas State Park Museum

The crab bisque was excellent as usual as was Stella’s Calamari. A big disappointment was that there are no longer carafes of wine offered and there is no house wine. The wine we had was overly expensive and not very good. The usually excellent Cypriot salad was served in a pile on a plate that made it difficult to manage. The best part of that salad are the grapes and pistachios. There were 2 half grapes and maybe 4 pistachios. The rest lettuce. This is the first time we have not rated Stella’s with 5 stars.

When I think of Carytown the first place that comes to mind is Can Can Brasserie. And like fine wine, it’s gotten better with age. From arrival to check we were made to feel like VIP. The drinks top tier, an extensive champagne list including vintages from 2000 and beyond. Even when ordering bread the food is always plated beautifully and creates an atmosphere all on its own. For brunch do the Quiche Du Jour and French Toast. And for Dinner you have to do the Scallops. Non-negotiable on that. They are life changing.

First time we've been back since the COVID debacle where you had to order from a QR code and gratiouty was added. Not sure who decided that was a good idea, but they were wrong. Wife and I went for Valentine's Day dinner. Looked like it was reservation only, which made for a nice atmosphere without ton of people crowded around the hostess stand. Ambiance was great, as was the food and service. We were pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed all aspects of our meal. Boathouse at Sunday Park redeemed itself last night and we will be back.

The food was delicious and reservation was so easy no wait. Waitress was great.

Midlothian Ruth's Chris never fails to uphold a high standard. The GM Christina is super amazing and is very personable with her customers that dine in this five star restaurant. Having conversed with her and know that she worked from the bottom up gives an immense amount of respect for such a diligent and focused work ethic. Zach, albeit leaving soon, is amazing and we know that when he leaves will be just as delighted with the next server on our next visit. This place is very clean, smells great, the chefs have majestic cooking hands, and the food comes out hot and worth every penny spent. Of course this doesn't come cheap, but even on a budget if one were to save or even dine during happy hour, you can come and have an enjoyable experience and even leave with leftovers.  The food portions are appropriate to the value.  If you're looking to celebrate on an exquisite level whether it is an anniversary, birthday, proposal, business meeting, or just a night out for greatness - this is the place to be and enjoy, because you only live once.
