It was very stimulating to a jaded palette, the dishes by every turn inspired in conception and flavorful in execution. As the restaurant does not publish its perhaps daily changing menu, I can’t properly name my dishes. The mushroom tart came with (for a mere $7 supplement) generous lashings of OR black truffle. The albacore crudo was the best raw tuna dish I’ve had this year, with shavings of raw turnip providing an unexpected but brilliant counterpoint. Their Sonoran spin on beef carpaccio should be recorded in a published recipe. I’ve never seen squash sorbet on a menu—with candied orange zest, it made for a refreshing ending. My server was highly professional and well informed about menu and wine pairings. She graciously brought a gift dish when one of mine not mentioned here disappointed me. Finally, the prices here are a bargain for fine dining at this level. A great exemplar of Tucson’s culinary scene.More infoBataPrice: Expensive• Contemporary American• Downtown Tucson•4.7
- DDavidLos Angeles •1 review5.0Dined 6 days agoTruly a gem of Tucson. This was our first visit, so we didn't know what to expect. Based on meals at other highly regarded Tucson restaurants I didn't expect much, to be honest. Frankly, we were blown away. Everything we ordered was delicious, and a few items were truly something else. We ordered the charred broccoli expecting a fairly straightforward, and basic, starter. What we got was a dish of such complexity that we were taken aback. Another highlight was the rosemary olive oil cake. Usually olive oil cake is one of those hip menu items that never lives up to the hype. This cake was the exception. It was so moist and flavorful. When I took a bite with the cake, cream, and dark maraschino cherries (Luxardo?), it was a mouthful of heaven. We seriously considered extending our stay in Tucson one more day simply to return for dinner tomorrow. Alas, it was unrealistic. But we do plan on stopping in the next time we're in town.More infoTito and PepPrice: Moderate• Southwest• Midtown•4.8

A lot of items were unavailable, even down to beverages. But I’d still say give it a try, the short ribs are damn good.More infoAgustin KitchenPrice: Expensive• Contemporary American• Downtown Tucson•4.5
