The Hartwood Restaurant enjoys a rich history. The originally the headquarters of the Harmar Coal Company. Purchased in 1988, the building was transformed into retail space, including antiques and a bookstore. Café tables were soon added amongst the book shelves, Over the years, The Hartwood Restaurant has evolved into a charming and unique place for meals, drinks, and events.     This is one of my favorite restaurants. Every time I go there, the food quality is consistent, the menu is very creative, and there’s so much flavor in every bite. This time, I was there for my husband’s birthday, and we both loved the duck confit, oxtail montadito, and the anchovies tapas—we loved everything, really. The vibe is very cozy, and the music makes it even more relaxing and enjoyable, while still allowing for easy conversation. Looking forward to coming back!

    5 adults out celebrating my birthday. The seasonal specialty cocktails were delicious. Everything from literally soup to nuts were delicious. Clam chowder, calamari, variety of salads, entrees of lamb burgers, pork chop, fish sandwiches, ravioli and vegetable fettuccine. Then a candy cane crusted and pecan covered vanilla ice cream ball for dessert. Multiple items shared and enjoyed by all. Waitstaff, hostesses and waiter, friendly and personable. Wonderful dining space/atmosphere. Lovely evening with family.
