- YYelenavipSacramento / Sacramento Valley •15 reviews5.0Dined 1 day ago⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 9/10 Dining at Seneca in San Diego felt like stepping into a dream — the atmosphere was enchanting, with breathtaking views and an ambiance that set the stage for an unforgettable evening. Our server, Victor, was nothing short of exceptional. His attentiveness, patience, and thoughtful menu suggestions elevated the entire experience. He navigated the evening with grace, making us feel truly cared for. The only reason this isn’t a perfect 10/10 is that the food took longer than expected to arrive. For a moment, time seemed to stretch — but when the dishes finally graced our table, every bite was a masterpiece. It was a delay we were willing to forgive for such a culinary experience. Seneca isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a destination. I’ll be back — and next time, I’ll be ready to savor every second. 🍷✨More infoSenecaPrice: Expensive• Italian• Downtown•4.7

Unique menu items and flavors that work together is #1 reason we go. San Diego has some good restaurants but... most restaurants serve the same food as each other - just w/ their twist. I say "So what"? That's boring and I can make most of that food at home for much less and at least equally as good. Herb & Wood has a menu that stands out and the flavors work so well together no matter what we order. Not inexpensive by any means but not taking-advantage-of-you pricing either. High quality, well prepared, and thoughtful menu items with a true connection to "flavor town"! Eggplant, Branzino, Apple/Fig Salad, Hamachi, Date Cake... all winners. It's a special occasion restaurant mostly but I see it as a regular go-to when I crave food that stands out!More infoHerb & WoodPrice: Expensive• Californian• Little Italy•4.7
- RRandallvipSan Diego •44 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoWell now. It was a romantic date night and Animae was the Choice. Parking is $20 just know that. On arrival we weee greeted by three lovely ladies and they were most welcoming. We were escorted to our table (the very first table off the lobby and right next to a service station. So not the best, but o chose to let it be and see how it goes. How it went was marvelous. The staff was very quiet and courteous and the service staton was not noisy at all. Being the first table by the lobby and right next to the bar made it a bit more noisy, but nothing to complain about. The server was great. She knew the menu and when we were chatting about menu items she hit it out of the park with recommendations. We ordered some drinks and -low - in your face fantastic. $18 each or more so the tab runs up pretty quickly. The crudo and the cucumbers were a delight. The mains, the filet and the tomahawk pork chill were a 10 out of 10. The sides- the potatoes and the wagyu fried rice were stellar. Probably the best Fride rice we’d ever had. Really. We did not have dessert as we were full. When anyone got up from the table, the server put the chair in place and re-folded the napkin and laid it on the table. A nice touch. This is a high end of high end places. $395 all in for two. 100% worth it. If there was one thing I would change is that I would lay cocktail napkins or a coaster because our drinks would sweat, make a water puddle on the table and then drip on us both as we raised them to our mouths. A smallest of small nits to pick. Near flawless.More infoAnimaePrice: Very Expensive• Contemporary Asian• Downtown•4.8
- MMichaelLos Angeles •9 reviews5.0Dined 3 days agoYou can't go wrong -- fantastic views, great food, outstanding service. Checks all the boxes. A top restauraunt, one of the best in San Diego, that makes for a memorable occasion. One note that may be helpful: we went for Jazz brunch on a Saturday, and despite the band playing in the bar, the volume was just right and we could easily hear each other speak.More infoMister A'sPrice: Very Expensive• Contemporary French / American• Downtown•4.8
