- LLucyNew York City •8 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoOur dinner at J Gilbert’s in Glastonbury was amazing! We enjoyed everything immensely in front of the warm fireplace. Our server chatted us up to ensure he got a good tip which he did indeed. However, after paying our bill he acted like he didn’t know us. He passed my husband several times while he waited for me from the restroom and no smile, no thanks again for coming, no nothing. J Gilbert’s should send him back to customer service training, especially for an upscale place like that. We will remember that next time we go in.More infoJ. It’s also such a pleasure just to sit there in such comfortable surroundings with a beautiful view of the river. The staff is incredibly competent and really takes care of your every need. Always a wonderful dining experience at River! More infoRiver: A Waterfront Restaurant & BarPrice: Expensive• Steakhouse• Wethersfield•4.2
- JJohnVIPIndiana •42 reviews4.0Dined 2 days agoFirst time at the SFH. Seating was near kitchen path when numerous better tables were available at around 5:30 PM. However, the atmosphere in the Dining Room was rustic & pleasant. Service was outstanding! Appetizer (mussels) were numerous, with excellent flavor, and nicely cooked! Martini was healthy and flavorful! Unfortunately, entrees (Snapper & Jambalaya) were just OK. Jambalaya, a Special, needed some seasoning heat in a generally bland gravy. A generous portion of Snapper was overcooked a bit with just a meh flavor. The huge salad (with nice dressings) and fruit offerings at the end were unexpected and good! Because the mussels were so well done, I think we were simply unlucky with our entree choices and will likely find tastier options on our next visit. SFH is a great value with outstanding service!More infoThe Saybrook Fish HousePrice: Expensive• Seafood• Glastonbury•4.8
- BBethNew York City •6 reviews5.0Dined 5 days agoExcellent food all around. Chilean sea bass special was light and flavorful. Everyone else ordered off the regular menu and enjoyed their meal. Server was attentive, energetic, and efficient. She brought a sample of the soup special that said spicy so we could determine if the level of spice was ok. One of my favorite restaurants in Hartford area!More infoMax Fish - GlastonburyPrice: Expensive• Contemporary American• Glastonbury•4.7
- KKathiNew York City •3 reviews5.0Dined on Jan 3, 2025The place is very clean, the service was great, and the pizza was delicious. Only criticism was the music was kind of loud and it was quite pricey. Compared to actual New Haven pizza the taste was there , but it’s way more expensive.More infoSally's Apizza - WethersfieldPrice: Moderate• Italian• Wethersfield•4.1
