Situated in the Red Rocks country 17 miles southwest of Denver on Hwy 285, The Fort is a true replica of Bent's Fort, (1833-1849), the first American fur trade post in Colorado. The Cheyenne, Arapahoe, Kiowa and Pawnee traded and intermarried at Bent's Old Fort, creating an economic and peaceful exchange of cultures in an otherwise violent West. The Fort building is on the National Registry of Historic Places, and celebrates the many cultures that traded at Bent's Old Fort. This was my first time going to The Fort and we’re already planning our next trip. The food was great and there was plenty of it! I was blown away by the service!? The food was timed perfectly considering apps, salads, main course and our drinks stayed full. We weren’t left for wanting anything. If you enjoy wonderful and high end cuisine, this place is for you.

Visited on a Wednesday evening this time and the experience was better than the last time. Had the NY Strip and Maine Lobster Tail. It took a little longer than expected for dinner to arrive, but everything was cooked properly, including my "rare" steak. The service was average for Red Lobster. The staff tends to hover until you place your order and vanish when it is time for dessert or the check, still, the service was good overall.
