- KKathieLeinster •1 review4.0Dined 1 day agoIs always a great experience the reason we always choose as our first choice to celebrate special events. However yesterday was a bit out of the ordinary. There didn’t appear o be enough staff. One server Ashley was wonderful. She took our order for food and drinks. Came over to us to make sure all was well while we were eating and came to us again for tea or coffee. This was a celebration to celebrate a 75th birthday. After the tea she brought the persons birthday a lovely plate with fruit and chocolates. Very much appreciated. Not sure if her shift was over as after that didn’t see her again. However my star was a 4 (again no reflection on Ashley) The restaurant was very under staffed. She seemed to be the only server actually. We needed salt and pepper and had to go looking for it. There was none on any table. We saw how busy that girl was henceforth didn’t want to stress her out with something so trivial. Generally speaking the menu needs something new perhaps something in chicken. Plenty of fish dishes as well as beef and pork. However I don’t eat fish and very little red meat. Thank God for the pastrami sandwich 😁it’s the only choice. Would you consider the Caesar salad with chicken again or roast chicken. The dessert could also use a cake or pie. Apple pie or crumble is lovely after a meal. 👍 The atmosphere is impeccable as are the decorations for Christmas. The atmosphere is always calming and relaxing. Missed the doorman! Hopefully he will be there next time around. All and all it was a pleasant experience. Will be coming again in a couple of weeks for another birthday. You have to try this hotel at least once at Christmas is quite magical.More infoThe Sally Gap Bar and BrasseriePrice: Expensive• European• Enniskerry•4.4

- JjaniceDublin •5 reviews5.0Dined on Nov 23, 2024Brought my mother for afternoon tea here and we all really enjoyed it. The food was delicious and plentiful, we couldn't even finish it all so they boxed it up for us. Staff were very pleasant, attentive and friendly. View of sugar loaf was fab. The piano player was brilliant and made the ambience perfect. I'd highly recommend here. It's so relaxing and the place is done up lovely for Christmas.More infoAfternoon Tea at the Sugar Loaf LoungePrice: Very Expensive• Afternoon Tea• Enniskerry•4.5

My hot goat cheese salad was very good, however the goat cheese was not hot, in fact it was cold. The wine selection was wonderful and appropriately priced. The truffle fries were outstanding and the burrata salad was excellent.More infoThe DouglasPrice: Expensive• European• Enniskerry•3.7
