Restaurants near Viejo San Juan

Our server, Catalina was wonderful and allowed us to try a few wines before we made a selection.

Restaurant we had reservations with for Thanksgiving let us know yesterday that they were closed. We scrambled to find another option, and boy did we luck out, The food was great, the service was outstanding and we had a great time. They have several good options for vegans in addition to their menu which satisfied the omnivores in the party.

Whenever I visit the island, a stop at Marmalade and El San Juan is an absolute must. These iconic restaurants truly set the standard for high-end dining, offering an unforgettable culinary experience every single time. The quality of the dishes is nothing short of spectacular. Each plate is a work of art, brimming with bold, eclectic flavors that reflect creativity and precision. The wine pairings are just as stunning, perfectly curated to enhance every bite and elevate the entire meal. What makes the experience even more special is the staff. From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed like an old friend. The team is not only warm and gracious but incredibly knowledgeable, taking the time to explain each dish and recommend pairings that make your experience truly unique. Dining at Marmalade or El San Juan isn’t just a meal; it’s a celebration of flavors, hospitality, and world-class service. I can’t recommend these spots enough for anyone visiting the island!

Josephine was the absolute kindest server! We had mojitos which were absolutely fantastic followed by the mahi mahi and penne vodka sauce with shrimp. The meal was very very good and I’m excited to come here again when I’m back!

Second time I’ve brought a big group here and everyone loved it! Would definitely recommend.
