Word of mouth lead us here for the first time, and since they filled up on a Tuesday night, it was clear that their reputation was sterling. It was much better than we had hoped. The happy hour menu is really impressive and it's like having a tasting sampler of some of the restaurant's best dishes. They offer salads, soups, seafood, and quality meats all in dishes for two....like two filet sliders, two oysters Rockefeller, etc. We started with the jumbo crab cake and it was the largest and finest crab cake we have ever had anywhere! No fillers....just a huge amount of fresh crab meat with a delicious sauce built in. One order feeds two, unless you just can't help yourself. Then we had African lobster bites that were crunchy on the outside and moist and tender on the inside; five of them were served like popsicles and we asked for melted butter to go with them (do that!). Fantastic! The next dish we don't recommend as strongly: two oysters prepared Rockefeller style, but the oysters were much too small to be satisfying and they were covered with an overbearing crunchy panko covering which overwhelmed what should have been the oyster flavor. Next came filet sliders, medium rare and absolutely delicious...excellent beef and super tender. Then the big surprise were lamb "popsicles". But these were really much more, a full one-bone lamb chop, with excuisite flavor. Wow! Dessert was excellent also, a Meyer Lemon Torte with toasted meringue and fresh fruit accents. Rich, creamy, but not overbearing. Service was exceptional: thank you so much Priscilla! And the General Manager, Rudy, came by to have a nice chat about this restaurant as well as their place in La Hoya, Southern California. What a great find! The great food and drinks were not inexpensive but well worth the cost. And the atmosphere is very classy. Enjoy!More infoEddie V's - Palm DesertPrice: Very Expensive• Seafood• Palm Desert•4.8

- NNancyLos Angeles •1 review5.0Dined 4 days agoDinner with our of town friends was the occasion. As always, the food was fabulous (we had the special Chilean sea bass, the ribeye, and the scallops). There is something special about the restaurant from the moment you hear the waterfall, and the space is lovely. As we get older the noise level has become a bit challenging, and the wait staff seemed a bit overstretched, but I will always have a dinner at Cliffhouse when I am in town.More infoLa Quinta CliffhousePrice: Expensive• American• La Quinta•4.6
- JJohnVIPPalm Springs / Palm Desert Cities •40 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoBe sure to make reservations. There was a long waiting line outside during our dinner, no reservations. Food great as usual, service superb. We sat outside as we had a party of six and the overhead heating was sufficient. Always an enjoyable experience.More infoAlps VillagePrice: Moderate• German• Palm Desert•4.8
- JJimPortland / Oregon •3 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoFabulous venue and great food. Everything cooked creatively and to perfection. We enjoyed ahi tacos for appetizer along with edamame accented with lemon garlic dressing. Delicious and I’m not an edamame lover. For dinner my wife and I split beef tenderloin and shrimp with scallops. Everything perfectly cooked and delicious. The service was outstanding too, from insuring our seating was to our satisfaction, to a knowledgeable and engaging server in Marianna. She made sure our dining needs were met and was accommodating to my wine nuances. I’m not easy to please when it comes to restaurant dining and have high expectations for highly rated and $$$ establishments, and Mitch’s exceeded those. We’ll be dining here as often as we’re in Palm Desert.More infoMitch's on El Paseo Prime SeafoodPrice: Expensive• Californian• Palm Desert•4.8
