- EEllisSeattle / Eastern Washington •12 reviews5.0Dined todayJanken was such an incredible experience. The atmosphere was incredible, the service was excellent, and above all, the food was amazing. I can say with certainty that I've never had better sushi. The quality of ingredients, the unique elements and the taste of everything was beyond any other sushi I've had before. The dynamite roll and the seared salmon nagiri were incredible. The cocktails were amazing, the tartare was amazing, frankly everything was amazing. But the stand out was most certainly the black cod. I'm used to cod being a fairly common, mediocre fish. But this dish was, in a word, sublime. A tremendous bomb of umami flavor, and yet as delicate and pleasing as any high quality halibut. My wife and I were beyond impressed, and this is now in my top 3 restaurants of all time. We will be back.More infoJankenPrice: Very Expensive• Creative Japanese• Pearl District•4.8
- DDiannePortland / Oregon •68 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoI e eaten here before and have not been disappointed. The service is top notch, waitstaff engaging and understands the food and nuances. The Tokyo turnips are definitely worth trying even if you’re not a turnip lover, beet salad never disappoints. The fois gras presented two ways delish and squash gnocchi and pierogis are also very good. Kens bread and butter the best. There isn’t one thing that was below par. This is a neighborhood unassuming gem. Ambiance, lighting makes for a quiet intimate dining experience.More infoArdenPrice: Expensive• Contemporary American• Northwest Portland•4.8

Had the deviled eggs, house salad, fried chicken and cranberry crumble dessert. Everything was so good. Our server was super fun and nice. - MMonicaPortland / Oregon •1 review5.0Dined 4 days agoI could not recommend Mediterranean Exploration Company enough! Everything we ate was 11/10. We also sat at the counter and watched the chefs, which was incredible. Truly one of the best restaurant experiences we’ve ever had and we will definitely be returning to try all of the foods that we didn’t get to try. Highly recommend the crispy lamb hummus with pita and spiced carrots dishes. Falafel and grilled octopus dishes were also delicious!More infoMediterranean Exploration CompanyPrice: Expensive• Mediterranean• Northwest Portland•4.8
- RRobertPortland / Oregon •1 review5.0Dined 5 days agoAlways good with great service. We come here every year for our anniversary. It is a bit pricy but we expect that being in the restaurant with a seasoned waiter. We usually come for lunch or happy hour and experience the same great food and a better price but not the same service as being in the restaurant.More infoJake's Famous CrawfishPrice: Moderate• Seafood• Downtown•4.7
