This was my first time dining at Black Cow Chophouse, and it was an excellent experience. We were there during happy hour when drinks are discounted and at least one meat entree is, so if you chose, you could get a very delicious meal and beverage for under$30. The menu is varied with delicious sides served family style. Our salads came with our steaks and were excellent as was the fresh bread and butter. The desserts did not disappoint, particularly the cherry crème brûlée. Service here is top notch. The vibe is cool and unpretentious. We did feel slightly rushed to finish so the next seating could begin, but I get that this fabulous restaurant has high demand, as it should. My compliments to the entire staff.

Always a special treat for us, we can count on good food, and excellent service. Only drawback is the noise level when the restaurant is really busy. Today's lunch was pleasant as there were fewer diners because of the holiday. We are vegetarians and appreciate having a choice when we go there.

Consistently great. Fresh & delicious. We shared a variety of starters, rolls, sushi platter, drinks and dessert. Staff is pleasant and professional. Easily one of our faves in Charlottesville and on our overall list of favorite sushi restaurants.
