We really like this place, the food is good and the service is on point. The two times that we ate here there was a party upstairs so it was a little noisy but overall a really good experience.

What a disaster! We went to an early dinner, so it was not yet crowded for a Friday night. Our waiter seemed eager to please but was not very experienced. He brought my husband's soup before we even received our cocktails. We never got the bread we ordered. The sole was so overcooked that it was literally mush. First time that I've sent a dish back to the kitchen. I asked for soup., thinking that the waiter would explain the issue in the kitchen and bring it quickly. My husband was finished with his meal before I got it. When I asked the waiter why it took so long, he suggested that we not dine on the weekend. On the plus side, their French onion soup is always delicious, and my husband enjoyed the beet salad. The music was also great, but overall, a disappointing meal. I understand that restaurants are having a tough time these days, but for a restaurant that has been around a long time, we expected much better.

Dear Lynn, Thank you for your candid feedback. I'm sincerely sorry your experience fell short of expectations. It's clear we missed the mark in several areas — from timing of dishes to the quality of your meal — and I deeply apologize for these lapses. While I’m glad to hear you enjoyed the French onion soup, that doesn’t make up for the other shortcomings you encountered. We’re committed to improving and will address these issues with our team immediately. We truly value your loyalty and would appreciate the chance to provide you with a better experience in the future. Warm regards, Darvin Aragon General Manager, Left Bank Menlo Park

The beef stew was very good, the duck was good, but cold. The service started out slow but got better.

Thank you for sharing your feedback! We’re so glad you enjoyed the beef stew and found the duck to your liking, though we’re sorry it was served cold. That’s definitely not the standard we strive for, and we’ll address this with our kitchen team to ensure all dishes are served at the perfect temperature. If this rant saves someone a visit to this terrible Left Bank, I’m glad I wrote it. Sunday brunch. Kids wanted but there no croque monsieur. And what, also NO french toast!?!? Something about not having bread??? Our nice Server is apologetic but has no clue why that is the case. Keeps leaving half way during our order to put the order into the kitchen… Indifferent manager comes over to explain - Basically cannot be bothered to buy or make it. Offers a pathetic ham and cheese on their in house bread instead. The benedict is served practically cold/lukewarm. Salads are underdressed. Boeuf Bourguignon is quite good but the salmon hash is the saddest lox on a mcdonald’s esque hash brown ever. Wines don’t come until the end of the meal - Server forgot. Definitely the worst of the two Left Banks I’ve been to. And I still tipped 20% because it’s the bay area. Go to Bistro vida next door.

If a restaurant opens on a Holiday, management must make sure enough employees such up to work. More than 25 min for pre-fixed menu dessert. Completely forgot about us until I approached the greeter. The food was awful (plain simple salad, soup was cold, main entrees just ok, and apple pie with NO flavor at all) NOT worth the price… Mcdls should’ve been better

We attended for the Thanksgiving Day as most of our family was out of state or out of country. First of all, the dining space was VERY cold, I was wearing 3 layers of clothing, had to keep my jacket on and still felt cold, does not make for a very good ambience. To show it wasn't just us, almost every other table people were still wearing jackets and at one a diner kept their gloves on. The menu was a 4 course set menu with choice of entree and desert. It also said items could be ordered a la carte. Neither of our party are big eaters, so we asked the waiter for a la carte pricing. He first said his handheld device only showed the total menu price and he didn't have access to the a la carte pricing. I asked if he could please find out and he seemed annoyed at the request. If the menu states a la carte the wait staff should know it, or at least not show displeasure at being asked to acquire it. Having ordered the Turkey entree and a pie dessert dish (a la carte), the two Turkey entrees arrived sans the Orange Cranberry relish the menu promised. Had to flag the waiter and request it. He bought one sauce serving boat for the two of us, we were among the first eating entrees, having gone a la carte and skipped the first two courses. So perhaps an early oversight. However observing all the turkey dishes served after ours, each plate had its own sauce boat. Other than all this the quality of food was good. Just a lot to consider around that.

Dear David, thank you for joining us on Thanksgiving Day and for sharing your detailed feedback. We’re truly sorry that your experience didn’t meet expectations. We’ll review our heating settings to ensure guests are more comfortable and address the concerns about staff preparedness with the a la carte menu. Additionally, we apologize for the oversight with the cranberry relish and appreciate your understanding as we improve. Your insights are valuable and help us enhance future dining experiences. We hope to welcome you back for a better visit soon. Best regards, Darvin Aragon Left Bank Menlo Park Brasserie
