We normally love Belfiore. The ambience is quaint and romantic. On this occasion we found the service slow. Firstly, we ordered topo chicos. One of our glasses smelt like anise so we sent one of these back. No apology was given, just a new glass brought to us. We enjoyed our burrata and carpaccio starter. We ordered lasagna for our main course which arrived stone cold. We sent this back and it was brought back reheated. Again, not much in terms of apology. Considering the bill came to nearly $3,000 MEX pesos, one would have thought that a gesture of goodwill or something removed from the bill would have been offered.

Bulla es un concepto creado por el chef Pedro Martín el cual es un lugar que apuesta por la cocina tradicional española con toques de modernidad y vanguardia, un lugar de sabores y texturas de toda España, una cocina con alma española pero con los mejores ingredientes nacionales e internacionales, los cuales son importados directamente. Como dice uno de los españoles de este grupo de amigos: “Un lugar que nos recordase la cocina de nuestra infancia, a la de la abuela, a la de los bares y restaurantes de toda la vida, a esos que no fallan”.

This was an incredible meal, and one of the highlights of our first trip to Mexico City. We chose the tasting menu and found each course to be delicious and well-executed. I was particularly impressed at how most of the courses had a connection to Mexican culinary traditions. We even got to try huitlacoche (corn fungus), which we had heard was a Mexican delicacy but were too timid to try on our own. The service was friendly and not stuffy at all. Our table was made up of English speakers with only some familiarity with Spanish, but there were enough bilingual staff that it was not an issue for us at all. My step-father had never had a chef's tasting menu before, and he's not the most adventurous eater, but he ate everything and was impressed.

Inside is a charming restaurant but the music was so loud we asked them to turn it down( didn’t help) and it made sitting there (plus noise from other customers) very distracting. Having said that, the hood was very good. The fried calamari was tasty but priced were very small. The gnocchi was good but the pumpkin ravioli was a knock out! Service was great. Everyone was very friendly and patient with our minimal Spanish. If you don’t mind loud music you might enjoy the food although it is listed in open Table as “contemporary Mexican” and it’s really not.

While enjoying a Japanese ambiance, one can savor a great variety of authentic Japanese dishes such as Shabu-Shabu, Sukiyaki, Kabutoyaki and Kaiseki (fine dining for special occasions). Beautiful kimono-clad ladies prepare the dishes in front of you and are always pleased to assist you the way you deserve (Traditional dining room).

Restaurant Suntory Lomas, excellent Japanese food very healthy, sakes and martinis. Teppanyaki, sushi, sashimi, butter clams, asparagus, meat room, gardens and waterfalls, terraces for smokers, live music jazz and dj. Good choice to celebrate and look good with their guests. I love this restaurant, the food never disappoints. Best sushi rice in town. Our wait staff Noel at the sushi counter is very professional. Attentive, smart and quiet in the background. I’m really impressed.

Zavala is a great restaurant nested in Mexico City’s upscale Lomas neighborhood. We live in Los Angeles and so far besides Jose Andre’s’ restaurants, we haven’t found yet one that has the quality and variety of Zagala’s menu. The lamb was outstanding and I have never tried it with that mix of herbs. Everything was delicious overall. Ambiance quiet, intimate. Service excellent. We didn’t sit up in the rooftop because it was cold-ish but it looked amazing. Zavala is a must!
