   We took a dear friend for dinner at Lon’s to honor her 90th birthday. While the ambiance is lovely at the Hermosa/Lon’s, our experience this time with the food and service was sub-par especially for the prices charged. We had a 5:30 reservation, arrived on time and immediately were seated at a table with the sun right in our eyes. They then moved us to a shaded table that had unstable chairs and the table wobbled. They did correct this but we had to remind them. It took more than 30 min for someone to take our drink order and another 20 to take our food order. A bread basket never came until we asked. For what we ordered, the food was very over-valued and tasteless. For a 5:30 reservation - we did not get out of there until 8:45! Not what we expected! We did let them know it was a birthday celebration, and for that they brought a strange card to our friend that really wasn’t necessary. Also, after telling us they had dessert on the way for her after dinner, they delivered a couple of very small candies and 1 raspberry on a plate (strange). For the caliber of restaurant that this is supposed to be, and at these prices, we were not impressed. We are here regularly from NY every spring, and have dined at Lon’s in previous years and have enjoyed it. However, we will not be returning in the future.

   Cantenn and Guy were great tonight. We had the salmon without bacon.

   My wife and I have been to Hermosa Inn to spend some time together there for Valentine’s and we often return to Lon’s for dinners and brunches. This last time as with every other time we’ve been there was nothing short of superb! On all points, their accommodations, their cuisine, staff and stellar service were all phenomenal. We had dinner for my wife’s Birthday last night and we literally had the time of our lives! Highly Recommend going there! You will not be disappointed in the least! This place holds a special spot in our heart due to the romantic environment and the great times we’ve shared together over the years…

   The menu was expensive but we knew that going in from reading the internet. No surprises. The expense of the food was off set by the hospitable and knowledgeable staff, and the superior ambiance.

   The setting for the outdoor dining is lovely; the colorful flowers and flowering trees were so pretty. The fried shrimp tacos were perfectly seasoned, and the ratio of the various ingredients was perfect. There are few unique properties like this one!

   Lon's is a unique experience here in Arizona - the ambience, the food quality, and the service levels are all wonderful. It is a must if visiting this part of the world!

   We received a great wine recommendation from our waiter. It was one of the best Vouvray's I've ever had. The food was exceptional and we all enjoyed the appetizers, especially the lobster cakes and St. Stephen's brie. The patio was beautiful at twilight. A wonderful evening.

   Excellent sable fish. Beautiful outside seating with heat lamps. Salmon excellent. My favorite restaurant in the world!
