Maya is now accepting reservations from 4:30-8:30 Monday through Saturday as well as curbside take out orders during the same hours. Please visit our homepage to see our updated selections daily. Please call if you require a reservation over 8 guests. Seating preferences will be honored based on volume and staffing.




Located in the center of Charlottesville Virginia’s Midtown, MAYA serves dinner 6 days a week. Our “made from scratch” menu is prepared daily in honor of the Old Southern Kitchen.

    Wonderful Valentines Day weekend dinner. The waitress was fantastic and attentive, food brought out in reasonable amount of time. The cheese fritters were delicious for an appetizer. Both main meals (one of us had steak, the other had the Rockfish) were great. We will be back!

    Wanted to try Maya for the first time- but for a the prefix Valentine’s Day menu it fell short. The ambiance upstairs was bright lights and not intimate- art felt aggressive- and paper napkins felt a little low end - and yet a $200 dollar bill was the result of the prefix menu. Food was rich and sweet- the cocktail was great though. Overall disappointed for our special night out.

    We really enjoyed our meal. Trout was amazing. Baby back ribs were generously portioned and fell off the bone. And the pimento cheese fritters! 🎉

    Joyce did a great job talking us through the menu items and making recommendations. Roasted carrots & Pork belly starters were great. NY Strip was done perfectly. Shaved brussel sprouts and Mac & cheese. Exceptional French wine to top it off. Thanks for a great evening.

    Maya is a fun place for southern style cooking. We like because there are ample vegetable offerings plus fish, so it’s possible to get out without a whole lot of calories. Food prices tend to be moderate, neither very expensive nor cheap. Presentation of food is very good, wine list is adequate. Curiously there are no VA wines, though there are many local beers. Several offbeat, but interesting cocktails. Service is good, responsive and definitely informal. Seemed a bit under-staffed. Ambience is not a strong point: the rooms emphasize space, local art is on the walls, but the overall effect is rather bare-boned. In sum, one of our go-to restaurants in Charlottesville.
