Review summary

AI-generated from verified diner reviews
Milleridge Inn offers a charming atmosphere, with "excellent service" and a welcoming, festive ambiance, especially during holidays. While some guests noted changes in the menu, the "French onion soup" and nostalgic dishes like popovers and cinnamon bread remain favorites. The "decorations and activities" for children enhance the experience, making it a delightful family destination.

Was the worst holiday experience ever. Had to wait an hour and a half for our meal, and it was all ice cold, inedible. The waiter knew the wait was unreasonably long, and was bringing us popovers to pass the time until the food actually came. At the end of the meal, we saw him go over to the manager and tell him our meal was miserable, and we saw the manager shake his head no, as if he would not do anything for us. They supposedly put millions of dollars into the restaurant. Nothing looked different from last year, and obviously nothing was done to improve the kitchen. Will never go back.

The Christmas crush, the buffet brunch, the shops, fireplace, popovers and carolers. What more can I say- no one does preChristmas brunch bigger or better

One of the most amazingly decorated restaurants on Long Island for Christmas! The food is solid comfort food. I would suggest going for the decor more than the food.

Great time to go during the holidays! Beautiful restaurant, great service and while we thought the food was a bit pricey, they give you large portions almost enough for 2 meals, well worth it.

Milleridge Inn has a storied reputation. It has been in existence for many, many years and has been a popular spot also for many, many years. High marks to the Milleridge Holiday Village. It is a fun, vibrant area to spend some time with fun shops with myriad products. The restaurant itself is classy, stylish and the ambience is warm and inviting. That said, the food is not good. Small menu but selection is decent despite that. The quality of the food is not at all acceptable. And plated poorly as items seemed to be just placed on the plate in any possible space available. For starters, I ordered the "Crispy Fried Calamari". It was not crispy. Rather, it was very chewy and rubbery and somewhat flavorless. The marinara sauce was light red and watery. Not recommended. The entree of Lamb Shank was a bit better, but (as lamb can be), quite fatty. The roasted potatoes were undercooked and hard. My guest had the short ribs which seemed to be "good but not great". The roasted potatoes on that dish were also undercooked and hard. Service was adequate but quite long between courses (which on this night was okay). We were there for almost 2.5 hours total. Our server was nice but started to lose his voice mid-way through our meal. Not sure why that was? Little concerning. Three stars because of the Village Shops, but 2 for food quality.

It is a nice experience for the holiday season. We had a great server, and we overall enjoyed our dinner. The village is nice to see if you've never been there before. If you have, there's really nothing new. Keep in mind that this is a gigantic restaurant. You don't go there with the idea of fine dining. It's more like the experience of one of Disney's midsize resort restaurants.

Short version: In summary, I DO NOT recommend going here! * wait times outrageous * food is NOT edible * staff is rude * Carolers? What carolers? Long version: Arrived for reservation on time. Waited 30 minutes for our table. Waited 20 minutes at the bar for a drink. While ordering a drink, manager Joe came behind bar and interrupted my order asking the bartender to tend to something else. Extremely rude. Our table was not set. Appetizers arrived, but then waited 5-10 minutes for utensils. We could not order pot pie because we were told there were several returned so they stopped serving. We were seated by the door. As time went by and crowds thinned it became very cold. The staff refused to close the doors, so we wore our jackets at the table. The hostess stand had a portable heater so the staff was warm! Waited over an hour for food. It arrived cold so we sent back. The food was microwaved so spotty hot upon return. The food was still not edible due to the salt content. The manager Joseph was not helpful. The hostess Jocelyn was rude with an attitude. Gave waiter cash and walked out.

This was a family tradition that we looked forward to. I made a reservation and in the notes I asked to be seated in the main dining room. When we got there, there were five young girls to check us in. It took all 5 of them to discuss where to put us and this seemed "complicated". When they finally decided, they took us to another room. I mentioned to the girl that I specifically requested to be seated in the main dining room (it was no where near full) and she actually rolled her eyes at me and said there are no guarantees. I told her that while I understand that, the room isn't full and I'd appreciate it if she could do her best to honor my request. Again, she rolled her eyes at me. If you don't honor any requests, delete the text box in open table for this restaurant. I understand that people are stressed for the holidays but as a patron, you do not get the opportunity to roll your eyes at me when I make a request in a calm, civil tone. It was very grinchlike the whole experience. To celebrate their lack of Christmas spirit, I ordered the grinch cocktail :-)
