   Headed to Milton’s for my birthday lunch and had a great time. The double cheeseburger is amazing and the service was excellent. The fireplace was going and it was nice and cozy on a frosty day. Five stars!

   We could not have been more disappointed with this Thanksgiving dining experience from start to finish. We had a party of five and to start with four cold hard biscuits were brought out. Tasted like they were made days ago. We had to ask for the cornbread and again four pieces were brought out for five people. Our beverages and waters were empty for some time until we had to ask for them to be refilled. The menu was extremely limited and what they did have to offer was not very appealing. Several of our entrees were luke warm at best. For a special occasion we expected much more especially considering the bill was $450 with no alcohol. Unfortunately we will not be going back.

   Unfortunately, this less than stellar dinner has become more of the norm in our last few experiences. To be fair, this was Thanksgiving dinner and could have been quite hectic and was not. While the service was excellent, the food was only medium. The turducken meatballs were very nice in a yummy potato puree and others liked their butternut soup; so good start! The shrimp and grits is a staple here and others in our group said they were good. The turkey breast was good and moist. The halibut though was very underseasoned. It was accompanied by fingerlings and carrots which were quite hard still. The dessert selections were sweet potato pie and a square of no-crust cheesecake with caramel sauce. Neither were worth more than a bite. To add, our reservation was for 6:00 and we were seated promptly. But as we were close to finishing the meal, the staff opened the back door to clear the patio letting in the 40 degree air making it very uncomfortable. Everyone put on their coats to finish the meal and wait for the check but my poor mom had to run to the car to warm up and wait for the rest of us.

   This is one of my favorite restaurants for lunch or dinner. The food was excellent as is usual from my many experiences there. Cooked exactly right with a creative flair. Loved the baby arugula salad with Brie and fig cornbread. The service was remarkably efficient. The staff worked hard to ensure that everyone had a pleasant experience. The manager came by to say hello and insure that meals were enjoyed. There was a positive vibe between the staff. I quite enjoyed my meal.

   We hasn’t been here for at least 10 years but it was still as good as it was then. We were seated promptly and our food came out in a timely manner. Our steaks were both cooked perfectly, and the Gouda Mac and cheese was so incredibly good. The brussel sprouts also had a good flavor. I am surprised they did not have a bread service but it didn’t affect our dining experience. We’ll definitely be back!
