What a disappointment! A server can make or break a dining experience; our server indeed broke ours. When asked if MC offered a non-alcoholic wine, he simply said "no" - and did not offer alternatives (soft drinks, iced tea, etc.) until he was questioned upon his return to the table with water. He continued to pressure us to order our entrees, returning multiple times to see if we were 'ready'. Note that at this point we were the ONLY patrons in the restaurant. One of my companions ordered the gumbo appetizer which he did say was tasty, but our entrees were served moments later, continuing the "rush". My companions both enjoyed the Snapper; my half rack of lamb was quite chewy, although flavorful. Before our niece and I of us had finished our meal, my husband's plate was cleared, as he had finished. Before the remaining two meals were finished, our server approached us with our check in hand. I asked if after-dinner coffee was an option, to which he appeared surprised and annoyed at such a request. When the coffees were served, we were not given creamer; our server was again clearly annoyed at this request. We were not offered a dessert menu. My husband is a kind man and included a tip for the server - which he clearly did not earn. We were in town to visit our niece and hoped for a great meal for her, as this is her first time living on her own in a distant city. We were terribly disappointed this was our 'treat' for our visit. We will not return upon our next visit to DC.

The brunch experience was somewhat underwhelming. While the food was passable, it lacked the finesse one would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. The service, unfortunately, fell short of expectations; there was a noticeable lack of coordination, as dishes arrived at varying times. A particularly disappointing moment was when the staff poured coffee onto the table without so much as an apology, which only added to the sense of carelessness. Additionally, the restaurant seemed oblivious to the significance of our visit, failing to acknowledge the birthday celebration we were there to mark. To top it off, the Eggs Benedict was overcooked, with the texture resembling that of a rock, making for an unenjoyable meal. Overall, the experience was far from memorable, and I would have hoped for more attention to detail and courtesy.

We loved dining at Morrison-Clark! The ambience was great and we loved the history of the inn. The room that we were seated in was beautifully decorated and intimate, which was perfect for conversation. The food was awesome, as well! We ordered crab cakes, steak, lamb, curry chicken, etc.

Food was very good but there seemed to be a staffing issue. We waited for ages to get our food while other tables received theirs quickly. There were only three tables in the whole restaurant that had diners at them, so this was particularly disappointing. In addition, our bill was incorrect and they just took forever to have a simple lunch.

Beautiful space but time for a refresh, place could be so much better than it is. Food was ok, not spectacular. If you're staying at the hotel, you're relatively captive, if you can, best to go elsewhere.

Great place, it’s just a classic. Soup, salad, steak are amazing. Onions rings are perfect. Mashed potato was incredible.

We booked this for Christmas lunch as it looked very quaint and romantic. We were not disappointed. A beautiful property inside an older hotel. The room was classic, clean, and distinguished and we felt like it was lovely for the type of meal we wanted to have on this special day. Our server was attentive and polite. The menu was simple as it was a special holiday. Choices were enough and we made our selections. We enjoyed our starters, entrees, and our desserts. Every bite! Wonderful!
