Discover Sant Antoni
Sant Antoni is part of the larger Le Eixample area, with streets organized in a grid structure, making walking around easier to navigate. Pay attention to all of the interesting graffiti on the walls around you while you explore. This area has undergone a lot of gentrification and used to be a seedier spot, but it now has more a free-spirited and imaginative feel. It has become a hotbed for young and creatively-minded locals trying to be part of a reestablished/up-and-coming neighborhood. For something unique to this area and incredibly delicious, try the beloved mini croissants (with a variety of fillings) at Forn Mistral bakery, which has been around for over 40 years. Another local classic is the Sant Antoni marketplace, which started in 1872. It’s the oldest market around and its plethora of unique stalls makes it one of the most popular in the city. Over the last few years, it’s been temporarily relocated while the original site is being restored, but it’s definitely worth checking out.
