- AAdamGreater Boston •1 review5.0Dined 1 day agoThis was a tremendous meal, and a can't-miss restaurant when visiting Washington D.C. It was my wife and I, and we shared six plates: hummus, falafel, rice pilaf/barley, fried eggplant, brussels sprouts and (essentially) french fries. We were uncomfortably full when leaving, and this ran us a whopping $72 dollars before tip. Obviously if we had gotten drinks or wine, the price would have gone up considerably, but I can't imagine this kind of quality food in a metro area for $36/person in 2024. Plus endless homemade pita that was a cross between pita and naan was provided -- crazy delicious. The french fries had a house-made mushroom salt with a yogurt dipping sauce. The serving size on those were substantial, but basically they were just outstanding french fries. In terms of going for authentic Mediterranean food, we could have swapped this out for something else, but that was probably more our fault than theirs just having something a little more neutral on the menu for less-adventurous eaters. The other five items were all significantly above average, with my favorite being the sprouts and my wife favoring the barley/pilaf. Also, the speed with which we got through our meal was noteworthy -- one hour as they rotated through plates one at a time. It was a well-oiled machine.More infoZaytinya - DCPrice: Expensive• Mediterranean• Penn Quarter•4.7

The music today was banging good, kind of retro-really fun. If there was a couch in a book, we would not have left.More infoFounding Farmers & Distillers DC: ChinatownPrice: Moderate• American• Mount Vernon Square•4.4

Both restaurants displayed excellent service and delicious meals. I had the meatball meal, superb and wife had the seafood prawns 🍤. Garlic bread was exceptionally tasty. This is one of favorite restaurants.More infoRPM Italian - DCPrice: Very Expensive• Italian• Mount Vernon Square•4.8
- JJenniferWashington, D.C. Area •1 review5.0Dined 5 days agoWe came to celebrate my husband’s birthday and our anniversary. Loved the esthetic appropriately decorated for Christmas. Our server Merybeth was exceptional! She was welcoming very attentive, and anticipated our needs. Merybeth made our whole experience rate it 5 stars. Now the food, we ordered the Tomahawk steak with Zanahorias al carbon(roasted heirloom carrots) and papa al horno(wood-fired baked potato). The steak was cooked at medium temperature, juicy, tender and seasoned to perfection. The steak was infused with herbs flambé at our table side which made the experience exquisite! We also ordered the Queso fundido with beef and ceviche Amarillo which very delicious. Everything was beautifully plated! We will definitely be coming back!More infodLeñaPrice: Expensive• Latin American• Mount Vernon Square•4.7

Discover Mount Vernon
Home to President George Washington, the city of Mount Vernon, Virginia, has a rich history. Many visitors get their first taste of ham biscuits in this city, and many also learn that hickory-syrup slow-aged in whiskey barrels and served over a stack of pancakes hot off the griddle is a great way to start the day. Down-home cooking prepared with locally grown herbs and produce are served at many restaurants using recipes passed down for generations. Others, however, are doing creative twists on these classic favorites. Failed attempts by President Washington to grow grapes at his estate to make wine gave this city its name. Many restaurants serve Virginia wine to diners in beautiful settings overlooking the Potomac River.
