Having been to the Ivy Cardiff a number of times, Ivy Asia was a different eating experience with the same quality and ambience. A Wednesday lunchtime with a friend, we chose the lunch deal which was excellent value. The food was beautifully presented and very tasty with a touch of spice. Service was extremely good and pre lunch cocktails at the bar were expertly made. I did like that the beautiful washrooms were on ground floor level. Overall it was a very good lunch.

We visited Friday evening with a friend who is ill and needs a wheelchair. The staff were magnificent, helping with access and really caring. The food was superb and it all added up to a fantastic evening out. Many thanks and well done all at The Gate.

Three different meals all served hot and quite quickly. Beef Bourginion didnt have very much beef, but the rest were delicious. The pub was very quiet and looked ready to close about 8pm, but we were finished by then anyway.

Highly recommend for any occasion. I hope they maintain their food standards as they are amazing. Food always lean and good quality. Comes out piping hot and very quick. Wish all restaurants operated to this degree. Spent a fortune at some high end establishments and they forget the basics!

We picked The Tickled Trout because we wanted someone quiet and unique for an anniversary and due to a vegan diet restriction, needed a place that could cater for all diets. We had a late table booked and Marcus was a fantastic host for the evening. Great choice of tapas dishes and we picked three meat and three vegan which was ample to be shared between two people. Would recommend the chickpea dish which had a nice spicy kick to it and was flavourful and the patatas bravas was not an overwhelming massive plate of blandness- it was a dish with flavour. Perfect celebration venue and fantastic service and food.
