Galesburg Restaurants

Martini's Grille was a request by our daughter for her birthday. The restaurant was decorated for the holidays and very festive. We had a wonderful experience from being seated to dessert! The staff made my 16yr old and 18yr old feel very welcome and included. My husband tried the seasonal soup and it was amazing. I had an exceptional martini and the girls enjoyed the warm pretzel appetizer. Our dinners were varying but the steaks were cooked perfectly and the sides we shared were also as perfectly made. We celebrated the birthday with the Big 'Ole Ice Cream Cake with a sparkler and it made the evening!

The service was excellent and the food was superb. There was a mistake made and it took our food a bit longer to come out, however, they corrected this quickly and gave us our meal for free. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and we will be back.

Server brought us the wrong drinks - we asked for Leinenkugels seasonal - brought us a different beer. Brought us dirty glasses to pour our drinks in to. Server did not ask if we wanted refills on our drinks - the answer would have been yes. Brought our check but never checked if we wanted dessert - the answer was yes. I gave my players card and ID to the server and he kept giving it back to my husband. Server sat in corner on his phone most of the time. Seemed like he didn't care. My husband and I both worked in service industry when we were young and tend to be generous with our tipping but he did the minimum so no 20% + tip for him. Always have enjoyed the staff and food at Kellers but this was a disappointment.

We sincerely enjoyed our dinner at the MidwayDuckInn! The staff was friendly from the moment we walked in. Our server went the extra mile to make sure our date night was fun and tasty. We enjoyed our drinks and were happy to see the adaptogen options for those of us who do not drink alcohol. We loved the fritters in both the pumpkin and regular corn flavors. Even took some home as they were beyond delicious. Lake Superior Whitefish was so tasty. Had mashed potatoes and carrots too. So yummy! My husband tried the fried chicken and it was hot, fresh and cooked to perfection. We will definitely be back!
