As the first uptown New York location for legendary chef Nobu Matsuhisa, we opened with much anticipation in the summer of 2005.Nobu's co-owners are his longtime partners: renowned restaurateur Drew Nieporent, Oscar-winning actor Robert De Niro, and Hollywood film producer Meir Teper. The restaurant showcases Nobu's signature new style Japanese cuisine with classic dishes such as Tiradito Nobu Style and Black Cod Miso. The restaurant received three stars from the New York Times.

The weekday lunchbox is a great lunch value and delicious way to experience Nobu.

Foods are not WASHOKU any more. They are too localized, i.e., too salty. Guests should be aware of taking too much salkt in the restaurant. Nobu should be realised the he has one best restaurnat in Tokyo, not others at all, as I visited one in London, one in Hawai and one in Russia.

We came to Nobu 57 for my daughter's 16th Birthday dinner and we were disappointed! Many years ago, Nobu used to be a great restaurant. This was a factory experience. The waiter was inattentive. The main courses did not come out together, so that one of us was eating while everyone else waited for their food, just for the one person to be long done eating when everyone else finally ate. The sushi is much better at Blue Ribbon or Momoya. This was overall very disappointing and absolutely not worth the money.

Having dined at both Las Vegas and Dallas Nobu locations, I was SO excited about the NYC experience. It did not live up to my expectations. In solidarity with a newly sober attendee at dinner, no alcohol was ordered. We did order NA cocktails which cost as much as the real deal. But we were definitely treated differently because we were not ordering alcohol. What a disappointment. I asked for our food to be flighted…they brought everything at once on 1 large platter. My husband waited at least 15 minutes for a refill on his iced tea which he ultimately had to ask twice for…without any sort of apology for the delay. Just a “it’s coming” response. We won’t go back to this location. There are too many amazing sushi experiences to pay their prices and get crappy service.
