After a two-year closure, Original Joe's, San Francisco’s quintessential Italian-American dining destination, revitalized iconic Daly City institution Joe’s of Westlake, and reintroduced it into the community as Original Joe’s Westlake. An anchor of Daly City from 1956 to 2014, Original Joe’s Westlake underwent an extensive two-year renovation, complete with a front-to-back interior remodel, including the kitchen and all dining spaces, and an exterior and landscaping overhaul. Following the Original Joe’s tradition, Westlake continues to prepare unpretentious, old-school Italian-American fare in an open kitchen for all to see. The menu is carefully crafted to reflect a past-meets-present hybrid of what Joe’s of Westlake used to be and what Original Joe’s Westlake is today.

Boasting Sputnik lighting, terrazzo flooring and redwood accents throughout, Original Joe’s Westlake elicits mid-century America in the likes of Palm Springs, Beverly Hills and Las Vegas. The newly reimagined Cascade Room features show-stopping pimento orange banquettes, and offers a variety of options for large gatherings—from private rehearsal dinners and memorial receptions, to smaller non-private family dinners, class reunions and birthday celebrations. With beautiful custom sliding doors, the Cascade Room can be divided in half, creating two fully private event spaces, accommodating up to 50 guests each.

    I always go there to order their Calamari Steak Dore. There isn't a restaurant in the bay area that serves this and it is great.

    Original Joe’s experience was delightful. Food was great. Cocktails were good. Ambience was lovely with all the holiday decor too. The service was okay we had to wait quite awhile for drinks and our bill.

    We celebrated my mother’s birthday and we received the best service from the dining room team. I have to say today’s service surpassed the food even. Needless to say the food is dependably tasty. We had the shrimp cocktail - very fresh; the veal scallopini sec portion is generous, so is the side dish broccolini, the other entree is a favorite - shrimp scampi with linguine. When the dessert was brought, one server (who’s an opera singer, I believe) sang Happy Birthday in a most beautiful voice. So surprising, so special. It was an overall one of the best birthday meals my mother ever had.

    Original Joe’s of Westlake is a legendary neighborhood restaurant. Food is always excellent and as expected. Our service this time was amazing, which makes the dining experience that much more enjoyable. Garlic bread and meatball starters complemented each of our main dishes. Consistency, atmosphere and friendly staff make this establishment one of the best on the Peninsula.

    Delicious chicken parmesan and prime rib french dip. Good size portions with plenty for leftovers. Ambience and customer service is top notch. This is a favorite for our family and friends. We live in Martinez and are willing to brave traffic to Daly City. Looking forward to an additional Original Joe's in Walnut Creek next year. Can't wait.♥️♥️♥️
