   Very nice environment and ambience. Service was good, not great or over the top. Food was overpriced for quality. Ordered the 18 ounce ribeye medium temperature and it was very tough. I would recommend steak 48 over this place.

   We had a Christmas Eve family dinner at Pappas Bros. Steakhouse-Downtown and enjoyed the experience. They were very busy which caused the service to be spotty and the steak quality was less than usual, however, overall everything was pleasant and satisfactory for our family. FYI, if you question how to order your steak, err on the side of medium instead of medium rare unless you like eating raw meat. The dessert of Chocolate Turtle cake was outstanding.    Definitely an off night for them. Starting with cocktails, continuing with salad and then fatty dinner. Not their usual service

   Our reservation was at 5:15. We were placed in the back room which wasn’t crowded at that time but our service was slower than it had been in past visits. Also, the oyster section was not something she went over. Past experiences was the staff would go over each oyster selection and then bring a menu of them to the table. The crackers that we were given were stale. For Christmas Eve, I expected more. The mashed potatoes were cold. When I was eating them, I found a white piece of paper in my potatoes. I didn’t point it out to our waitress because we were not looking for a free item but this was less than average for Pappa’s Steakhouse.

   The waiter was very attentive. As it got busy, we saw him less. The steak was awesome. The salmon was very fishy and I did not eat it. The crab cakes were awesome and a must have.

   We had made reservations for the evening; however, it took longer than expected to get seated. The food was excellent as well as our server. Highly recommend
