Paragary’s is a lively neighborhood restaurant with modern California flair, located in the heart of Midtown, Sacramento. The menu and bar program are dictated by the seasonal bounty of the Sacramento region. Originally established in 1983, the restaurant underwent an extensive remodel in 2015, combining both modern and traditional elements to create a relaxed, timeless environment that lets the food and drinks take center stage. The light and airy interior opens up to the renowned dining patio that features waterfalls, 60 year-old olive trees and a large fireplace.

Paragary's does an excellent brunch. I like to go early (10:00 or 10:30 am) and enjoy the atmosphere before the main brunch bunch arrives at 11:00. David, our server, greeted us warmly and made suggestions upon request. He checked on us throughout the meal and kept our coffee cups full. Today, my friend and I each had the smoked salmon on toast. The house rye bread was very good, and plenty of cream cheese and other bits made it very special. We sat by the window, looking into the patio area, which still had a big Christmas Tree. It was a lovely spot to enjoy a final holiday weekend meal.

I hate to write this because I have had many good experiences at this restaurant but this was our first time going on New Year's Eve. The first two courses were fantastic, my partner and I cannot say enough about the salads and the mushroom soup. However the pasta, main courses, and desserts just fell flat. I think the roughly $150 tab per person is a good value but when you are paying over $400 for a couple and the food is a letdown, the price tag starts to sting. Service was impeccable, friendly and prompt, atmosphere was great along with the drinks.

Not real fond of a fixed price menu they always seem to do this on New Year’s and other big holidays. The food was good. I love the gnocchi and the steaks were perfectly done. The presentation was exquisite thanks to the chef.

Great food, excellent service, pleasant surroundings: that's pretty much all I want in a restaurant. Last night's smoked-trout appetizer was a huge hit; the same for the squash-and-speck pizza. Oh, and a VERY interesting wine list with plenty of good value. We tried a South African Chenin Blanc and loved it.

Paragary’s just isn’t as good as it used to be years ago. Quality of food, service, and ambience has gone downhill steadily in the last few years. This used to be our special occasion restaurant, but the last few times we’ve gone, we have been disappointed and we will reconsider where to spend our special evenings

Sorry but noise level too much and so dark we used flashlights to read the menu. Dishes were uninspired and bland with very limited options. Server was great even though she was running to get her tables covered. No longer a first choice option fo us.
