Best Lunch Restaurants in Over the Rhine

We brought my brother and sister-in-law here for the first time on 2/15/25. Our server Merrick (sorry if I spelled it wrong) was great! Phenomenal dinner, food came out quickly and was delicious. The guys got whole chickens and my sister in law got the chicken sandwich. We ordered fries, spoon bread, succotash, horseradish mashed potatoes, shrimps and grit and macaroni and cheese. We had a lot left over but they wanted to try everything. Last night, the shrimps and grits stole the show though, 10/10! Our only issue, I hate to mention it because we had such a wonderful time but since I am deaf in one ear I feel it may be helpful to someone else; we were seated under a speaker and the music was so loud. So if you’re going and you have hearing issues, maybe ask not to be seated close to where their speakers are. Highly recommend if you love quick, efficient service and pipin hot, yummy food!

The food was incredible from start to finish and our waitress was amazing too. Whipped ricotta, meatballs, gem salad, and butternut & mascarpone was to die for. The bartender struggled. It seemed like he may have been new but it took me 10 minutes or more to get a drink at the bar after I ordered it.

We had an amazing brunch this morning. The deviled eggs were so tasty. The lemon ricotta pancakes that my MIL had were delicious. The goetta breakfast that my wife and I had was the best breakfast we have had in a long time. Service was excellent with Caitlin.

Alcove is an overall fantastic experience. The lush greenery along the walls only adds to the experience. From top notch service and delicious food, Alcove is a “must do” on any visit to Cincinnati.

From start to finish, can't say enough about how well the overall experience was. Greeted upon entering and while I was early, invited to go to the bar to wait. Team was a little slow to respond but I noticed the mgr on duty at the door tipped off the bar tender and all was well. After being seated, everything was great. Food and attention to detail awesome. Was thank and taken care of in a timely manner.
