- JJudySan Antonio •2 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoSupper for brunch! Supper at the Emma is always a great experience and today was no exception. Brought two friends out for brunch at Supper on a gorgeous November early afternoon. We started with grapefruit, cranberry and mixed mimosas. Delicious so we had another! Chicken club, breakfast burger, and Caesar’s salad for lunch was perfect! Side potatoes were great, as was the bacon. Irish coffees to finish the meal. A perfect start to the day! Nela was our server and she was fantastic! Didn’t helicopter at the table but we never wanted for anything. Thank you Supper for a great brunch experience!More infoSupperPrice: Expensive• Contemporary American• Downtown•4.6
- MMartaSan Antonio •1 review5.0Dined 1 day agoWe opened the meal with a lime-forward, homemade guacamole topped with pico de gallo. It was addicting and worth every penny. It comes with a red chipotle, salsa verde with a bit more heat, and the most ethereal tortilla chips we've ever eaten. The Elotes, a quartered corn cob topped with a masa crunch and queso fresco chamoy, is every bit as good as it sounds. The reposado flight featured Wild Common, Agave de Cortes, and Carabuena and is served with palate-cleansing orange and jicama sprinkled with sal de chapulines. Aguachile Verde, a vibrant, beautifully presented ceviche of red snapper, cucumber, and Serrano chilies served in a mildly spicy tomatillo sauce. I craved more acidity, however I can also acknowledge that, coming off of the guacamole, my tastebuds might have needed a reset. The Chuleta Asada, with Berkshire pork, snuggled into a salsa de queso, combined with the rice made for an exceptional bite. Caramelos de Carnitas was served on a wheat tortilla that was flaky and the carnitas were seasoned like their Abuela taught them how to do it. Flauta de Papas came presented stunningly and were promptly dispatched by my daughter. The Chile Rellenos’ exterior crust was so expertly fried that it retained its crunch until the last bite. When you cut into it, the queso Oaxaca oozed out so beautifully. The Tres Leches, with Chef Tavel's signature salted cream, coconut, and Jamaica sauce was the favorite of the night. Chocoflan isn't the classic cake and flan dessert but an actual flan that sent my eyes rolling to the back of my head in ecstasy. The apple sorbete was topped with thick, homemade chamoy, and sprinkled with Tajín. I highly recommend Mezquite!More infoMezquitePrice: Moderate• Northern Mexican• Downtown•4.5
- MMurraySan Antonio •4 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoHost and bartender were extremely knowledgeable and enlightening in conversation. The host provided us with a wealth of information about the history of the building and was friendly and well spoken. Our bartender was just as friendly and attentive. He knew his craft well and provided us with good recommendations for libations and fare. We only had appetizers and drinks but they did not disappoint. The bean and cheese nachos were excellent, esp when our bartender suggested the spicy avocado cream sauce as an accompaniment. It definitely had a little kick, but it was not overpowering. The chicken in the quesadillas was probably some of the best grilled chicken I have ever eaten. I will be back to try the chicken on its own! My BF said the house margarita on the rocks was great (he had two) and I liked the sangria, but I will admit, I did not order a second. It was a bit bland, however, I appreciate that they made it fresh. The atmosphere is lively and the building has been beautifully restored and renovated to modern standards, but still keeps the warm aesthetics of its former days as the Liberty Bar.More infoCarriquiPrice: Moderate• undefined• Downtown•4.8
- SStevenDallas - Fort Worth •1 review5.0Dined 3 days agoWe went here for our 13th wedding anniversary. Where to start? Immediately, we were sat given complementary champagne. Our waitress Jewles was wonderful!!! Very, very on point. Checked on us frequently went out of her way on one of our requests. There was a small hickup with my husband's order, but right away, a manager came to explain the situation and wasn't a big deal to us, just more tad of a wait. Then 2 free desserts to end the night!!! Honestly, the whole night was good and food amazing! Jewels was 10+ stars for her waiting services if I could give that! Will definitely be back!More infoBrasserie Mon Chou ChouPrice: Moderate• French• Downtown•4.8
- PPatriciaMinneapolis - St. Paul •9 reviews5.0Dined 5 days agoFirst-time visitors, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal on the patio at Best Quality Daughter. We shared the “smallish” plates: Smashed Cucumbers, the Impossible Potstickers, and the Creamy Coconut Tom Yum Noodles. By then, we were stuffed and must stop here again for more amazing dishes! We also brought home T-shirts for our own three “best quality daughters.” Thank you for a fabulous time!More infoBest Quality DaughterPrice: Moderate• undefined• Downtown•4.8
