The food was as excellent as ever, with a great fish special (monchong) which had some unique flavors I don't recall ever experiencing. I understand that much of their remodeling was in the kitchen but the dining room was bright and beautiful. Service was excellent as always. Salad was great but the slow braised short ribs had just enough sear to the outside to give a slight crunch plus added flavor and then the meat itself just fell apart…. DELICIOUS! The carrots had such a great roasted taste with sweetness from the carrot-cooked perfectly. Lastly, the mash potatoes were heaven, the butter the garlic flavor with the most smooth silky mashed potatoes I have ever had!! This time, we split a salad and I had the Hawaiian Short Rib and my wife enjoyed “The Catch of the Day” Special. Both were excellent. The Pineapple Upside Down Cake for dessert topped off the meal in style. Our server was friendly and personable. She shared her story about running marathons which was very impressive.
