Best Restaurants for Quiet Conversation in Mountain View

Get the polenta. It’s very good. And the presentation was unexpected.

I had indicated when I made the reservation that this was a birthday treat, and also mentioned to the seater, but no recognition of it occurred. Most restaurants give the birthday guest a little nibble of something extra. Kind of disappointing.

Selby’s is the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion. The lovely, quiet ambiance allows your party to relax and enjoy conversation. You’re greeted outside by the valet and the greeting continues as you check in. The hostess leads you to your table where you’re met by your server who walks you through the fixed price menu. Make no mistake. This restaurant is pricey but the excellent service, delicious food, and extensive wine list make your evening unforgettable. There is also a full bar. The chef sends out a special amuse-bouche to start your meal. We enjoyed the pear and endive salad, petite fillet, lobster, beef Wellington, fruit tart and chocolate cake. Everything was well prepared and presented beautifully. This restaurant located at the edge of Atherton feels like you’re dining in the best SF restaurant.

We had a great dinner experiences here at Evvia. All of the dishes were delicious, but lamb chops was our favourite, juicy as it can get and beautifully tender as medium. Our server, Francesco was welcoming and attentive which made our experience very memorable.

Our first time dining art Flea Street, we perfect and dinner delicious. Staff was very gracious.
