Best Contemporary British Restaurants in Dorchester on Thames

Enjoyed the 1917 menu - Asian salad & Rendang Curry - absolutely delicious. Usual fantastic service.

We had the oysters and steak, it was very good. I also had some chardonnay and it was the best I've had anywhere. The ambience was nice, servers were attentive and friendly, and music was nice. I enjoyed my visit. Thank you.

This is my favourite restaurant in Oxford, a real gem which never fails to delight and make you feel life is looking up, even when it might not be ! The portrait in the Gents of Modest Mussorgsky is brilliant. Instantly recognisable and so displays the power of music. A supremely talented composer, who died young of an excess of drink; something I’ve been trying to avoid myself! Now to return from the Gents to the restaurant , the service is impeccable, the food just great and the wine list delightful. I am rarely moved to write reviews but this place is great. In the summer you sit in the walled garden , in the winter inside in just lovely surroundings. I even bought the hand cream !

All the staff were very friendly and efficient and our meals were delicious. We'll certainly be back!
