Best Indian Restaurants in Borough Park

I first dined at Tamarind in 2000 or 2001, pre 9/11. They were at a different location then--smaller but also wonderful. This time at the Tamarind I was delighted by the same levels of hospitality and care, and I was impressed by the excellent staff who waited on each table. The food is spectacular! Try as many of the dishes as you can. I went for the tasting menu. The scallops were simply outstanding, as was the cauliflower. The lemon rice with all the fixings, and the desserts--the kulfi was out of this world --made for a perfect meal. Wonderful wonderful wonderful!

Indiian Table offers creative, perfectly presented, and delightful Indian dishes. The service is terrific, with great suggestions for pairing dishes and wines. It is a hidden neighborhood gem that we will visit again and again.

Basic interior, with cafe style furniture and seating but the food was surprisingly good!

Took a while to receive our food, but when we did it was very good. We came here to celebrate a family birthday, and had to wait quite a while to receive our special dessert and candle thing. After we had seen another table get theirs. We ordered a second paratha, but by the time it came we had finished our food. That said, it was a pleasant dining experience and I would happily return.
