However, the biggest letdown was the tempura. The vegetable and shrimp tempura were barely recognizable as tempura at all. To make matters worse, the calamari was just overcooked in oil. Eating these dishes was practically impossible, as they were just greasy and unappetizing. On top of everything, the prices were quite steep. I expected much more for what I paid. We were pleasantly surprised by the ambiance and the beautifully designed interior of the restaurant. Our table was in the Red Rose section, which was a good choice for having an understandable conversation in normal decibel. The food was delicious and well-thought-out, even as fusion cuisine. The service was exceptional—friendly and attentive, even taking care of our coats and ensuring our drinks were promptly refilled.
