- MMarshallPhoenix / Arizona •7 reviews5.0Dined 5 days agoWe recently moved to Tucson (like a week ago) and rather than try to cook a turkey dinner for Thanksgiving, we opted for making reservations. The reviews for Sullivan’s were good, so we made a reservation for late afternoon (3:30 pm). We had a cocktail in the bar before dinner (very well stocked and friendly staff) and selected the Thanksgiving holiday meal. The appetizer course came quickly and after twenty minutes or so a food runner brought our dessert. The waiter, Bruce, quickly whisked them back to the kitchen. After another twenty minutes or so, after seeing tables who arrived after us being served entrees, I asked Bruce if dinner would be coming soon. He condescendingly said “we have four dining rooms full of people so the kitchen is a bit busy right now but I submitted your order as soon as the appetizers were brought out”. Luckily, he must have mentioned it to Matthew, the manager on duty that day. Matthew arrived and said there had been a computer issue and our dinners had been affected (so, it wasn’t just the busy day that had caused the delay, Bruce). Matthew made us feel welcome at Sullivan’s and saved the experience for us. For the rest of the meal, Bruce was even chillier than before. He was clearly not having a good day but Matthew was. Matthew is why I’m giving a five Star rating and while we will be back for steaks next month.More infoSullivan's Steakhouse - TucsonPrice: Expensive• Steakhouse• Downtown Tucson•4.5
- OTOpenTable DinerPalm Springs / Palm Desert Cities •1 review5.0Dined 5 days agoThanksgiving at HiFalutin: A Delightful Experience We’ve dined at HiFalutin several times and have always enjoyed great food and warm hospitality. A particular highlight has been their delightful mini-blueberry muffins—seriously, they’re a must-try! This visit was for Thanksgiving, and we arrived about an hour early, unsure of what else to do. The staff graciously offered us seating on the patio, which was perfect given the pleasant fall temperatures. While there were heaters on the ceiling for those needing extra warmth, we found the weather just right without them. The restaurant offered a fixed-price Thanksgiving menu, with no à la carte options—a choice to balance efficiency with quality. The starters were solid: the Caesar salad was crisp and flavorful, and the mushroom soup was rich and satisfying. However, the real stars of the meal were the entrées. I opted for the salmon, which was cooked to perfection, and Duffy had the prime rib end cut—a generous portion that provided delicious leftovers for Black Friday breakfast scrambled eggs. This was my first time choosing seafood over traditional Thanksgiving fare, and I loved every bite. The dessert options rounded out the meal nicely, with the pies offering a sweet finish to the feast. While the food was excellent, the service truly set this experience apart. Our server, Kelly, was fantastic—attentive, engaging, and genuinely interested in offering upbeat hospitality. We liked her so much that we added her to our contacts for future visits, ensuring we can request her next time. Overall, HiFalutin continues to impress with its great food, welcoming atmosphere, and outstanding service. It’s a spot we’ll keep coming back to—and if you go, be sure to ask for Kelly! Oops... I nearly forgot to mention one of the hallmarks of HiFalutin: great food at reasonable prices.More infoHifalutin Rapid Fire Western GrillPrice: Expensive• Comfort Food• Casas Adobes•4.7
- KKevinPhoenix / Arizona •11 reviews5.0Dined 5 days agoWe were early and decided to try the bar before we were seated. The whiskey Wednesday cocktail menu is really good! Try the chili spring rolls. Greg was on fire with the drinks. Our server Rhonda was fantastic with menu knowledge. The Del Bacon burger, shrimp pasta, and tinga tacos were all excellent. Desserts hit solid, a really neat twist on dulce de leche and the lava cake. 5 *s well deserved.More infoPalm at the Westward Look ResortPrice: Moderate• Contemporary American• Casas Adobes•4.3
