- MMICHAELVirginia •4 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoHow to describe my favorite restaurant in Richmond and one of my favorites of all time...the experience starts once you walk in. The music, the art, the names of the dishes on the menu. For a few seconds the sounds and sights are like a roller coaster running full steam, but then everything settles into place and your visit begins to flow. Fresh truffle service tableside? This is the place to do that. Mac and Cheese with Maine Lobster and that truffle service? Sign me up. Swashbuckling Bundt Pirate cake served on a classic Aquaman plate for desert? Yes please. Just don't forget to get your reservation in well in advance. Dress code isn't stuffy, but leave the ball cap in the car.More infoL'OpossumPrice: Very Expensive• Contemporary American• Richmond•4.9
- JJerryVIPVirginia •34 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoThe food was absolutely wonderful…the rockfish was perfect. We were in the covered patio area and it was completely wet floor…seems the owners could keep the water out of there. Also, the over heat was miserably hot because it is directly pointed at the tables in the middle. I would recommend not being seat out there during cold or rain.More infoPortico Restaurant - RichmondPrice: Moderate• Italian• Richmond•4.8

This is the third year in a row that we have gone to RCSH for Valentines Day dinner and have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The atmosphere including a wandering quartet and pianist playing dinner music to the meal and service is top notch. Our server was Brigitta and she is both professional and personable. The manager stopped by to check on us as he did to many tables which is a great way for them to check on any problems ahead of time. No complaints from us and we will be back.More infoRuth's Chris Steak House - RichmondPrice: Very Expensive• Steakhouse• Richmond•4.7

We were seated on the second floor, the Jewett Room. They only have four tables in the room so compared to the bar area, it was quiet. We had a table for 4, so for the 2 of us we had plenty of room. My date started with a cocktail, "The Mother of all President's", which was fabulous. The service was terrific, special shout out to our waiter Jacob. The meal was perfectly prepared. We both had the 6 oz filet mignon and it was so flavorful and tender. We shared the sauteed spinach and au gratin potatoes. For dessert, we split the dark chocolate tart, which went well with our bottle of Caymas Cabernet. I highly recommend for a special occasion. We heard they have a great happy hour, so we will definitely return and check it out.More info1870 Restaurant and BarPrice: Expensive• American• Midlothian•4.6
- GGregVirginia •1 review5.0Dined 3 days agoThis is an amazing place - unknown to us before trying on Valentine's Day. The inside space is elegant and inviting, with table spacing that allows quiet and private conversation. Service is attentive but not overbearing, with occasional visits by the manager. Bar drinks were surprisingly tasty and original - we had the Shanes Strawberry Lemonade and Bloody Mary. We tried the Apple Pecan Salad, Shrimp 'n Grits, and Southern Cajun Pasta. If you're a fan of shrimp - both entrees had some of the best we've ever had. They were crunchy, juicy, spicy and plentiful. The pasta dish wasn't overly saucy and loaded with shrimp and fresh crabmeat. We can't wait to go back!More infoSouthern KitchenPrice: Expensive• Southern• Richmond•4.5
