- AAndieAustin •31 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoMy family and I had a belated Valentines family dinner at Colleen’s kitchen. This is a special occasion favorite with my family and our visit this time reinforced that opinion. We arrived in time to enjoy the happy hour which I believe is every day. We ordered drinks off the happy hour menu as well as their delicious deviled eggs, skillet, cornbread, and the brussels sprouts. Although we all ordered different dishes, everybody ended up with some of their wonderfully delicious grits. The family ordered shrimp and grits, fried chicken with a side of grits, the seared scallops which comes with grits, and one of the breakfast biscuits with a side of grits. All of the food was very well prepared, and everyone seemed to enjoyed it. Since I ate some of the appetizers, I took home part of my breakfast biscuit and grits, and have to say that they were wonderful as leftovers as well. The only disappointment on this visit was that even though we arrived early in the evening, they were already out of the lemon meringue pie. Although the noise level can be a little loud sometimes this is a very charming restaurant with wonderful service and an absolutely delicious menu.More infoColleen's KitchenPrice: Moderate• Southern• Central Austin•4.8

The red and white table setting the service and even hearing the music playing from outside…..that was our 2nd time there and it won’t be our last. - AAndieAustin •31 reviews4.0Dined on Feb 8, 2025I went here on a Friday evening and enjoyed the food and ambiance. I made a last minute Friday night reservation and was able to pick between inside or patio dining. My companion ordered the salmon bowl and I got the pasta carbonara. We really enjoyed both. She tasted a couple of wines before picking a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon she enjoyed while I tried one of their cocktails the Amalfi. The cocktail menu is big and colorful as was the drink itself. It was a fun experience.More infoRosé GoséPrice: Moderate• European• Austin•4.7
- MMiriamAustin •2 reviews4.0Dined on Dec 8, 2024We made a reservation through OpenTable for a Saturday evening, four people. When we arrived, there was no one at the host desk. We and another party waited for several minutes. I was heading toward the kitchen to find out if anyone could help us, when the hostess came to the desk. Once she arrived, she was very friendly and quickly got both parties seated. I don't think I needed the reservation; there were many empty tables. Noise level was low. Our waiter came by promptly and took our drink orders. He returned with drinks and the biscuits, which were delicious. We ordered fish and chips (two), grilled mahi and blackened trout. We also got sides - cole slaw, broccoli, and orzo rice The food came out quickly and was hot. Everything tasted good and we enjoyed the meal. The fried cod has a crispy batter and flaky inside -- very nice. There was a mix up on one of the sides, but it was resolved. Our waiter checked in on us several times and kept our drinks replenished. All in all, we had an excellent meal at a reasonable price with friendly service. I was expecting to see more of a crowd there. The food is really good, although the ambience is a bit too quiet and dark.More infoRed Lobster - Austin - Anderson LanePrice: Moderate• Seafood• North Central•3.6
