Open since 1985, this delightful, unpretentious restaurant in Forest Hill, London, is renowned for its stunning and innovative modern Indian cuisine. Babur's stylish, earthy interior features exposed brick walls, natural wooden furniture and beautiful handmade Bengali artworks. The intimate atmosphere and sensational staff have made Babur a favourite dining destination with Forest Hill locals, and the food is worth making a trip across town for. Blacklock is a modern version of the Great British chophouse. Set in an old electricity substation on the site of London"s oldest meat market. We take the best meat in the country from the award-winning farmer and butcher Philip Warren in Cornwall. Restaurant is absolutely amazing. Staff are all lovely and the food is sensational. Couldn’t have asked for anything to be better. The price is definitely worth it for the experience received. My water was always filled and there was always something offered to me e.g. bread or another drink, etc. One of my favourite restaurants and will definitely be going back.

Was initially apprehensive given that Ting's views might mean that the restaurant borders on touristic (and overly busy such that food and service would be compromised) - although was pleasantly surprised by the overall experience. Food was good, service was impeccable and seamless, and the team was very thoughtful (in assisting with my mum's birthday celebration). Great value for money to, with the weekday set lunch!
