Mimi’s Bakehouse is a second-generation family business established in Edinburgh in 2010, when Michelle Phillips sold her family home to open a bakery café in Leith. We have gone on to build a local success story brand that gives people a ‘hug when they walk in the door’ as the original café has since doubled in size and the business has gained five more shops, a successful website selling cakes online and a concession at Archerfield Walled Garden. We also opened an industrial bakery in March 2020, out of which most online trade is produced for fulfilment. We were met with friendly staff, didn't take long to be seared and our food order to be taken. We had booked the table as we had another event to ho to. The food arrived in time but the macaroni could have been hotter and it came with side salad which isn't jettisoned on the menu. The cheeseburger came with lettuce, sidesalad and coleslaw which isn't mentioned on the menu either. Then the service went downhill after that as a coach party arrived and the staff couldn't cope. It took them along time to come ask about sweets and they had thought we had already ordered them but no-one had asked as they had run out of menus. Disappointing end to a good meal.

The volunteer arms was brilliant. Food was lovely and the atmosphere was great. Staff were very friendly and gave treats to the dogs too! I will be coming back again
