Lovely cosy atmosphere in the pub with open fires. Very good menu with some unusual choices - always good to see. Food was delicious, service good too. Very nice place, we will go again

Sometimes you get what you pay for, yes price a little higher than your average restaurant but the quality of the food and service is excellent. If your looking for something a bit different and a real treat I can highly recommend giving this a try, we had the 3 course menu and every plate was delicious from start to finish, will definitely be returning 5*****.

Opting for the 5-course tasting menu during our visit on Wednesday evening, we were treated to a journey of flavours that were as refined as they were inventive. Each dish was a testament to the creative genius of Chef Aktar Islam and his team, blending traditional Indian influences with modern techniques in ways that delighted the senses. From the very first bite, it was clear that each plate had been crafted with meticulous attention to detail. The balance of flavours, the textures, and the presentation were flawless—elevating every course into a work of art. It was impossible to pick a favourite dish as every course brought something unique to the table, showcasing a remarkable depth of culinary skill. The service was equally impeccable. The staff were attentive without being intrusive, their knowledge of the dishes and wine pairings enhancing the entire experience. Every interaction felt warm and genuine, creating an atmosphere of relaxed elegance that perfectly complemented the meal. The highlight of the evening, however, was our post-dinner conversation with Chef Aktar Islam. We don’t normally go out for Sunday lunch as we enjoy cooking at home but friends were coming to stay and we wanted a little more time to chatter and relax. This was a seriously good decision ! 3 x Beef and 1 x Lamb. All perfectly cooked and presented with flair (yorkshires and roasties were perfect) We all enjoyed our various starters, the home made slaw with my short rib was nothing short of delicious) the dressing on the heritage tomato and burrata salad was superb with a slight kick. Yum I need to recipe. Good house wine - both white and red. It did take a bit too long for the starters to arrive but that gave us the chance to catch with each others news. Too full for pudding but a cracking Sunday lunch. Highly recommended particularly because this is real chefs cooking; so much more of an occasion than the production line, run of the mill offerings in some venues. We will return.
