Best American Restaurants in Kapalua

Great time at the Banyan Tree! Very good food. We are vegan and they had plenty of options. Our waiter, Nick was personable, friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. I loved the open air seating with a view of the ocean. There was Hawaiian music playing that was easy to talk over. I would recommend the Banyan Tree for their Alternative ha spirt and good food.

We had a wonderful dinner at the Sea House. We arrived early and got a tasty Mai Tai which we enjoyed in their garden space. We were given the option of inside or outside, chose outside and were seated exactly on our reservation time. The sunset view was spectacular! Our server, Craig, was very informative and engaging. We had calamari to start, a wedge for him, the watermelon salad for me. Large portions and yummy! The special was the Prime rib and my husband LOVES rare prime rib. It was a great portion and he loved it! I has the Mac nut opakapaka and loved it! We shared the ice cream pie and took home leftovers of our entrees! Overall loved our experience and will return! Special note: the manager Nico stopped by our table to check on us and we had a lovely chat as we share Chicago roots.

We were seated at a garden table at 7 pm. We all ordered the same dish because a couple next to us raved about the Macadamia Nut encrusted Mahi Mahi lemon butter caper sauce. It was OUTSTANDING. Probably the best fish dish that I ever had. I was delighted with the size of the serving. The Mac salad was great as as the rice. The sauce was superb. All of us loved it. The service was excellent. I will be back next year.

We thoroughly enjoyed our Valentine's Day lunch at the Plantation House. We were seated at the open window at a table for two with a commanding view of the links and ocean afar. As if on cue the whales were breeching. I ordered the Catch of the Day, Mahi Mahi with a lobster sauce (40 something$) and my wife had the omelette. We enjoyed two cocktails, I the Majestic Mai Tai and she the Pain in the Coconut. Both drinks were very good and presented with the expected Hawaiian flair. Our server, whose name escapes me at the moment was very pleasant, helpful and guided us perfectly in our menu choices. The rest of our experience was orchestrated by the Tradewinds.

I ordered the Thai Coconut Curry with Marlin. The fresh, flaky marlin pairs beautifully with the creamy yellow coconut curry, creating a delightful balance of flavors. The dish is expertly prepared with jasmine rice and tender vegetables and just the right amount of spice. The ambiance of the restaurant further enhances the dining experience with a beautiful view of the pool and ocean. James was my server and was very polite, friendly and helpful. Great hospitality and great meal
