Best Contemporary French American Restaurants in Portola Valley

I'm a fan of this restaurant. Food is always consistently excellent. The cocktails are great and they can make a special one for you if you describe your likes. Very good wine list, too. Service is always solid, very friendly and they work as a team to ensure a good experience. We enjoy everything on the menu. Our top favorites: sesame pancakes w/ smoked fish, charred snap peas, charred cabbage, sashimi over rice, fish katsu, and the steak. And of course, dessert, we love the caramel choc. tart. Menu changes seasonally, the main ingredient may continue on the menu but the sauces and sides will be different, pending what's in season. We look forward to returning soon.

The Village Bakery and Cafe does not disappoint. Always great service, beautiful comfortable atmosphere and consistent satisfying food. Our favorite go to spot before or after Filloli Garden visit.

I had the pleasure of dining at this wonderful restaurant, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. The food was not only beautifully presented but also incredibly delicious. Each dish was a delight to both the eyes and the taste buds, making the meal truly memorable. The service was equally impressive. The staff was attentive, friendly, and went out of their way to ensure that everything was perfect. Their warmth and professionalism added to the overall enjoyment of the evening.

Food was OUTSTANDING! Went in to celebrate my birthday. Enjoyed the crab salad and baked brie apptz followed by the skirt steak and rack of lamb. The meat was so tender on both dishes, no knife needed! Our waitress was courteous and prompt. She asked what we were celebrating and surprised us with a chocolate cake that had a birthday message on it with a lit candle. Highly recommend!!

Great server and staff. Drinks were good, very limited beer offering (3), but great wine and spirits list. Food was good, not great - short ribs a bit dry, but salmon was very good.
