Best Farm To Table Restaurants in Burlington

We’ve had some inconsistent experiences at the River. Really enjoyed it when they first opened, awesome chicken wings app (large sized pieces), good clean food. Seemed like it went downhill after Covid, trouble finding good/experienced staff, food was disappointing. Our food was much better this time, burgers cooked as ordered, fries weren’t greasy/soggy, and our server seemed knowledgeable. Gripes: the salmon dish is underwhelming for the price, the rice that came with it was bland. Also the desserts were mediocre, cheesecake and mousse layer cake were cold and the cheesecake didn’t seem homemade. Overall, though, better than previous recent visits, and hopefully things are on the upswing!

Such a warm welcome as we arrived, a very knowledgeable team, excellent cocktails in the bar before dinner, a well-versed sommelier, & a DELICIOUS menu. As a party of five, We had the duck, scallops, mussels, soups and salads, all of which we enjoyed greatly. The STICKY TOFFEE pudding was one of the very best any of us had ever had…x The fire was roaring, the ambience invited us to linger. Thank you Team Jessica for a fabulous evening.

Food was excellent! Our server seemed very overwhelmed and took a while to check on us for refills etc. other than that the experience was great!

A friend and I are staying at the Saranac Waterfront Lodge next door and decided to go to this restaurant next door for dinner. We were immediately greeted by the hostess and chose a table outside near the water. Kelly was our server and was very friendly, attentive and made excellent suggestions regarding the dinner menu. We both had the strip steak dinner. My friends was cooked to perfection (medium rare) but mine was a bit undercooked (medium well). The wine list was adequate and the Cabernet we chose was fantastic. After dinner we enjoyed a nightcap at the bar. Overall, this is a great place to eat. Dining on the water (Lake Flower) made it even more special. We will be back when visiting Saranac Lake in the future.

We got there early and did have to wait but the hotel has many parlors and a nice bar so the wait was pleasant.
