Our name, which means “little dream” in Italian, was chosen by partners Tony Priolo and Ciro Longobardo because it had always been their dream to open a restaurant of their own. “The restaurant fits our personal goal to get to the heart of Italian wine and food,” says executive chef Priolo. “You go to Italy for simple food prepared by hand with local ingredients. We wanted to bring that experience to Chicago.”

Piccolo Sogno features a menu of seasonally fresh rustic Italian cuisine. The impressive all-Italian wine list boasts over 400 selections to pair with your meal.

When the weather allows, enjoy al fresco dining in the hidden garden patio-regularly recognized as one of the best in the city.

Starting December 1, Monday-Thursday we'll open at 5 pm rather than 4 pm-just for the winter.

You are welcome to bring a cake to celebrate. If you do, we will charge a $3 fee per person cake-cutting fee.

Beginning January 1, all credit card transactions will be charged a 3% fee.

Great food and overall experience. Restaurant was pretty loud but there isn't much that could be done about that. 10/10 would recommend and will be back for sure!

The food and service were excellent. We just returned from a visit to Italy and while we had some excellent meals there, the food we had at Piccolo Sogno was equally good. We are frequent customers and will return soon.

Overall, the experience was ok. However, don’t wear sneakers to this restaurant unless you want to be sat halfway in the bar and the dining room basically in the walkway of an aisle. The hostess stepped out from behind the counter to look at our shoes, though we were dressed nice. I found this to be a bit degrading being that my shoes don’t dictate how my credit card works. Spoiler alert: Hermes and Ferragamo let us in earlier that day to shop, dressed the way we were but Piccolo had a problem. It’s a city restaurant and we walked there. But next time I know that I should be wearing heels and opt to valet my car…

Much too loud f a restaurant to enjoy the great food and conversation with friends. For a very nice restaurant, why does it promote this level of noise?

It was my first experience dining at Piccoli Sogna, and I'm still determining if I would return. The reservation policy states that I should be at most 10 minutes late, but I waited 15 minutes before being seated at a small table for two in a crowded space. It wasn't the restaurant's fault, but the man at the table next to us was using the f-word, and as I said before, since tables are very close, it made for an uncomfortable atmosphere. The homemade pasta was delicious, although I ordered Paglia e Fieno, served with a veal ragu and I couldn't see any ragu on the dish, possibly due to the dim lighting, and I couldn't taste either. The service was excellent, but the bill was quite high for just two pasta dishes

It was an exceptional dining experience for me. The different flavors kept the palette guessing the ravioli, I ordered as an appetizer, this was one of the best dishes I have ever had. My family wanted pasta however I had a taste for steak. I ordered the ribeye which was a cut. I typically do not order and I’m glad I did. It was the first ribeye, I had that was full of flavor and wasn’t overwhelmed by marbling.

This is a wonderful restaurant. Food is delicious. Service is knowledgable and attentive. The room is attractive. Ambient noise still allowed for normal conversation at the dinner table. I have dined here before and will again.

Sitting outside in the tent, even with heaters, on a 20 degree day was not comfortable and should not be an option for guests. I wish I had known ahead of time and would have made other plans.
