We celebrated our anniversary at the same location following our wedding 45 years ago in Bend. The ambiance, food, service and atmosphere is as amazing as our first experience. Looking forward to another visit!

Good stake bites and bread balls with honey butter. The beef stroganoff was really good on a cold windy winter evening. The mile high mud pie was exceptionally good. Very nice meal!

A heart filled thanks to Bill McCormick and Pine Tavern for recognizing and honoring Veterans on November 11th. As an Army vet, visiting the “empty table” and reading the placard brings tears to my eye remembering friends I’ve lost in Vietnam. Pine Tavern is wonderfully Bend and it deserves patronage from all Bendites.

Frankly not a great experience. We’ve been there many times in the past and enjoyed the food and service. Last night my husband and I went for my birthday. Didn’t get even a drink order placed for about 30 minutes. It was a Saturday night so it was understandably busy. But it felt like our waiter had too many tables and large groups to help us. When food finally came out, plates were very hot (so sitting under the heat lamp for a long time) but food was cold, and someone other than our waiter brought it to us. Waiter barely breezed by on the run to ask how it tasted, and I said ok. Table next to us also had a birthday, and it was acknowledged—dessert item had a little candle. Anyway, no big deal about the candle, but we were out for a nice birthday evening, and it was a letdown. Probably nothing our waiter could do because he was so busy, but I wish we had gone somewhere else.

I didn’t enjoy this visit to Pine Tavern as much as I have several previous visits. I’m an out-of-towner, so it usually is 3-9 months between visits, but honestly I may not bother next time. Looking back, our best eating experience at Pine Tavern was when we ate in the large front bar area off the happy hour menu. This time the dinner menu seemed limited, capable yet standard (not particularly inspiring), and where we ended up seated in the dining room was more crowded than we’ve had before. The mahi mahi ordered by one person in our party had to be re-done because what she thought was just an underdone spot turned out to be most of the serving. This was made right without delay or question, but this was a first for us in any meal service here before. Staff is generally capable and friendly.

Hadn't been to Pine Tavern in a couple of years and forgot how great it is! Definitely will keep it high on my "go to" list. Chicken Marsala was excellent. Others ar my table spoke highly of the fish and chips and fried chicken (comfort food fix) as well... the Mud Pie dessert was perfect and plentiful for the four of us and comped as we were celebrating a birthday. Attentive, but not intrusive, service with moderately priced menu. Definitely returning soon.
