We know the word "fusion" has been wielded about to justify everything from Hula Burgers to Mexican lasagna. But the East-meets-South brand of fusion happening at Poor Calvin's? It's creative; it's innovative; and it's probably unlike anything you've tasted in the ATL. After working in kitchens around the world, Calvin Phan wanted to shake things up a little. And so, into the mac 'n cheese, the Thai spices went. Now, Calvin's giving Southern staples, like sea bass and fried chicken, a decidedly creative Asian-inspired twist (and a nip of spice, too). He has created innovative dishes, approached in much the same way, leave the hands of Calvin Phan day in and day out. His dedication and attention to detail are evident in each dish and dessert. You won't be disappointed.

Arrive early, parking is very limited! Drink was slow to come out. My food came out before my simple margarita was made. I ordered the crab fried rice, but included little or no crab. Server was very polite and attentive, she did discount my drink. Overall the price for food not worth the value.

The food and ambience at Poor Calvin's never disappoint. We can always count on them for consistent quality, and I'm always happy to recommend this spot. Last night, Ashley was our server, and she was amazing. Her food and drink recommendations were spot-on, and her attentiveness made our dining experience exceptional.

This is not my 1st time at Poor Calvin's. Our favorite dish is .....Lobster Fried Rice!!! It is a staple, and someone at the table should order it. Our drinks were amazing. We had the Long Island Thai, Whiskey Sour, Mango Spice & Espresso Martini. The sip made me shimmy. The Korean Ribs and Grouper dishes were delicious. We had the goat cheese appetizer special.

There are a few places that aren’t just a restaurant but instead a culinary tour. This is one of those. I’d argue they rival anyone for best cocktails. The Asian fusion is top notch. Not cheap but well worth every penny. Well done once again!

The service is absolutely phenomenal. Our server was attentive and made sure we had the most amazing experience. It made for an impressive business meeting. Next trip to Atlanta will include a trip to Poor Calvin’s!

This is probably my favorite restaurant in Atlanta… The food is eclectic, unique, and delicious! The service staff is above and beyond. Kell’s creations are always a joy to discover.
