Had a nice evening with friends at Aberdeen. Enjoyed the renovated interior of the restaurant. We showed up about 2-3 minutes after our reservation time, but they asked us to wait 5 minutes so they could 'clear a table's...which was weird because the restaurant was only 25% full. Actual table service was friendly, prompt and helpful. Our appetizers (wagyu perogi and the lobster gnudi) were unique and really delicious! The main courses were good, but a little less 'unique'. I had scallops, which themselves were cooked perfectly, but the plating and accompaniments were bland and uninteresting (flavorless lentils and basic purple carrots). I will order something different next time. Husband enjoyed the shirt rib but said the plating was a bit much and hard to maneuver without making a mess.

Very pretty and new place, just open 3 weeks when we visited. Still getting service legs under themselves but mostly a bit slow rather than “bad” service. Apps and soups were very good. Drink/wine pricing is fair. Pretty place that has the potential to do well.

Our server was lovely, very educated and charming. The ambience is upscale, cool, mid-century modern, with art pieces that try hard to be cool and edgy. The drinks were very good. My scallops and my husbands’ pork chop were over-cooked, and I had higher hopes for the food. We were very disappointed with our final 5 minutes in the space, as we had the strangest experience with a front-of-house personality or manager. We are local, and wanted to explore the new restaurant in the neighborhood. I specifically wanted to find an event space to host private gatherings. We wandered into an open room, and opened a lightened door to discover a beautiful, well-designed, upscale private event space. Immediately I noted a fundraiser we could host here! It was gorgeous. Within 10 seconds a manager (I assume?) came in and aggressively stated it was a “private room” and “not open to the public”. As I apologized, and asked, “is this space available for rentals?” She stated it was for members only, with a further process of vetting to be available soon…she stated we could access information forthcoming on the website but needed to leave the space immediately. It was incredulous how rude this person treated a guest in their restaurant, not to mention a possible target-audience future client/member. Zero sales-101 training. No warmth, no questions, no tour. No “how was your meal? What do you think of the space?” “I apologize but this space is closed now, but soon it will be open to members. May I take your contact info and share the info when available?!” After spending $250, we felt like we were scolded and forced out of the restaurant. The entire situation could have been handled differently. We are within 1/2 mile of Aberdeen and will never return. I am sorry to be unable to promote an establishment so close to home. Best of luck on the members-only space in the back. Hopefully the vetting process goes well. Lovely drinks.

The food was outstanding. Scallops were delicious and tuna Nicoise was first rate. Our server (David) was attentive and efficient. First time we went there and will be back. You should check out the menu first--not a wide variety of entrees, especially if you do not prefer steak.

We have been to Aberdeen twice now. We SO want to love it, but so far the food has just been OK, which, for the price, is not acceptable. Everything on the menu feels so complicated and unconventional and quite heavy. I’m hoping they will adjust their menu to add some more traditional steakhouse dishes to balance out the “foodie” items. So far the best thing we’ve tried was the ribeye, the whipped potatoes, and the Caesar salad. Also the French fries are fantastic. Everything else was so-so and a couple of items - tuna tartar for example - are inedible. The service here is impeccable - we have loved Kat and David, and the vibe is great. They just need to make some tweaks to the menu to make it more approachable. How about adding shrimp cocktail or mussels or a side of green beans or broccolini? A salmon not covered in peppers and sauce and tomatoes? Some entree salads to eat a little lighter? Some more conventional flavor blends too. We are rooting for you, Aberdeen!

For a restaurant that has only recently opened and on Christmas Eve, Aberdeen did a surprisingly great job. The menu is filled with unique and unusual taste combinations and variations on standards. They sport an excellent wine list. The staff is very attentive. Though some are new to serving in a fine dining environment they were all well trained and attentive. We had the pierogi's for an appetizer. Superb. My wife's scallops were large and plump and she said the accompaniments were as good as the scallops. I have the smoked short rib. It was tender enough to eat with a fork. It was only lightly smoked so that added to rather than overpowered the flavor. The dumplings with it were different and delicious. We finished with a delightful Pineapple Upside Down cake dessert with ice cream. Unlike so many restaurants today the noise level was reasonable. There was a decent crowd so that was appreciated. Overall Aberdeen Social House is a wonderful dining experience. The team behind it have done a great job with a unique menu, an attractive space and excellent service.

Food and service was very good. O Miller chicken was excellent. Lobster BLT so-so. Beautiful restaurant but pricy. Somewhere for a special occasion. Our server was very nice and she knew the menu well.

Hosts and Servers are not very good. First, they tried to seat another couple with us because they had the wrong table. Server brought wrong drink to table, later he billed us incorrectly and overcharged our credit card. Food was not anything special. Won’t be back.
