Chefs Patrick Pham and Daniel Lee have over 25 years of combined experience in Japanese cuisine and sushi. They established their culinary careers in Houston where they worked together for years before creating their own restaurants.

Pham and Lee teamed up to bring new curated dining concepts to Houston’s food scene and kicked off a series of omakase pop-up dinners called Secret Taste. Pham and Lee then opened Kokoro in the Bravery Chef Hall in Downtown Houston followed by Handies Douzo in the Houston Heights.

Aiko is the newest concept from the team featuring a sushi bar and seated dining.

Aiko is a fantastic spot for sushi and a perfect choice for a girls’ night out! The service was absolutely incredible—the staff was attentive, accommodating, and understanding of our being 10 minutes late. The ambiance was beautiful, clean, and had a fresh, new vibe that added to the experience. We started with the fried chicken appetizer, which was absolutely delicious—highly recommend it! The edamame was tasty too, but it’s definitely a smaller portion, ideal for two people to share. For sushi, the Negitoro, Hamachi, and Wagyu Maki were phenomenal—so flavorful and fresh. The spicy tuna, however, fell short and wasn’t as impressive. Overall, we had a wonderful time and would definitely return to enjoy Aiko’s amazing service and standout dishes!

This is my favorite place for sashimi in Houston. On top of that, service and attention are fantastic - from tasting sakes to select to complementary dessert and a fantastic attention and details from servers.

Easily the best sushi in the city. Product quality, technique, flavor combinations, presentation are quite amazing. Service is very knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. Considering the level that Aiko reaches, it is extremely approachable.

First time to sit at the sushi bar at this particular sushi restaurant, and terribly disappointed with the experience. Rather than have a server assist me, the sushi chef himself was apparently assigned that responsibility, and his skill set is most definitely NOT customer service. I ordered a pre-fix menu of nigiri and rolls, with starter of edamame included. One would think that I could enjoy these items without being peppered with repeated requests that I order more items. What is more, he literally barked out his questions about what more I should be ordering, interrupting my conversation with a friend who came by to join me while he was at it. VERY annoying, to the point that I began to simply ignore him altogether rather than having to politely repeat that we are just fine with the multiple items already ordered to someone being so rude and impolite. It was so unpleasant that, even though i enjoy this restaurant, I will never sit at the sushi bar again, but rather be seated at a table where a server suited to the job will be assisting me.

Owner Patrick, suChef Steven, Master Chef Chuy, DJ P and CP Nguyen were incredible. Excellent food and gastronomic diversity. I trusted the omakase process eating oysters, and froiegras that amazed me in every single way. Absolutely delicious.
